Temple University Dental Class of 2029 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Anyone knows the post interview acceptance rate?

~ 65.96% (372 / 564) overall using above ADEA data for the Class of 2024; similarly, you can calculate both the in-state and out-of-state rates using the same data.

~ 64.01% (393 / 614) overall if 2023 interview (ADEA DSE) and 2022 acceptance (ADEA OG) data are used.

Does anyone know if the waitlist moves at all and when to expect to hear anything?

Got accepted yesterday and received a phone call a couple hours ago!!! I’ll be attending.

Congrats! What time? what are your stats?
I was accepted at 12:01 AM on 12/13/2024 with a 3.46 GPA, 3.43 science GPA, 3.59 BCP GPA, a 24 AA, 26 TS, and 21 PAT. I am a reapplicant; last year, I had five interviews and ended up on three waitlists but ultimately received the 'class is at full capacity' email later in the summer. This cycle, I received only two pre-December interviews and one post-December interview but was blessed to be accepted to Temple.

I took the DAT for the second time, improving my score from a 20AA and 22TS to a 24AA and 26TS. Additionally, I began volunteering as a tennis coach at a nonprofit and completed Advanced Anatomy & Physiology 1 this fall semester.

that's amazing
congrats!

did anyone get any information on the merit-based and need based scholarships they mentioned at the in-person visit?

Those who didn't get an email on decision day, did you get any email telling youre on waitlist?

Can anyone speak about Temple's D1 year? What is the schedule like? How demanding is it? Is it true they changed the curriculum recently, making it more challenging/less forgiving? I am scared they are a school that will readily kick you out...If this is not the right place, anyone know where I might get these questions answered? Thank you in advance, truly.

Looking at their average GPA and DAT scores, and enrollment rate....don't think they're trigger happy with kicking out students.

Has anyone done the post-bacc program and get accepted the following year?
From what I saw from previous threads here, they take the best top 10-15 students from the post-bacc program. The rest either go to other schools or dont hear anything.

Has anyone gotten interviews or acceptances after decision day?

Do we expect movement for interviews or for the waitlist after the information sessions?
Should I send a letter or interest?

Any useful info during the waitlist session? I was not able to attend because I had a quiz.

I haven’t gotten anything but the email for post bacc. I did the post bacc interview and I have an in person visit in March. I did not receive an email about rejection or waitlist to the dental school. I’m confused.

Former postbacc here, about half of my class was accepted (~30 people out of 60). Others were also accepted to other schools, so in total I would say around 35 of us who took it seriously got into dental school.

When do acceptances for postbacc students go out?

They come out in rounds depending on how many students met the requirements. So if you met the GPA and DAT requirement by December, you should receive an acceptance around the week of Christmas.
If you meet the GPA but not the DAT requirement by December, some people retook the DAT in the spring and they got their decision mid-February. Others also received it after the program ended, in another round in June!

I just did my online interview and go to Temple March 21 for the 4 hour visit. Is it too late for me?
