For Temple's secondary application...there is a question:

I hereby authorize Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry to
discuss my application in its entirety with...

options are:
1. Anyone who inquires about my application
2. No one
3. Only the people listed below (then you can list the people you give permission to discuss your application)

What are you guys putting for this?

:wtf:

Trick question to thrown a few clowns right out of the stack.

Get out!

Lol who asks that man

I can't even open my secondary. When you all opened the pdf, did the download tell you to get the latest version of Adobe reader?

Yeah I had that problem too, you just have to update your .pdf viewer. For example, I use foxit reader for viewing .pdf files, so I just had to manually update to the latest version. After that it worked fine.

....So....what should we put for that question? Anyone who inquires?

I'm hesitant to mark "anyone who inquires" because I don't know who "anyone" is. We should clarify what exactly they mean. I wonder if any Temple students can provide insight?

How serious is this thread ? I dont get it.

Is it possible to inquire anonymously about this question? Do you think its because d schools may ask info about you from other schools? or possibly references/family/relatives at the school will ask?

i am putting anyone who inquires. Mailing it off first thing in the morning 😀

That is what I am leaning towards. No one should be inquiring about it anyway. Except for the staff of their school.

That is what I figure. Now the question is when will they start inviting applicants for interviews.

Speaking of Temple's interview, I heard a rumor that some interviews there aren't even in person. They put you in front a video camera and you have to record a 5 minute blip about your life. Any truth to this?!?!

All the interviews are like this at Temple ( atleast mine was, and everyone in my interview group was).

That's what they did for the last cycle. If I remembered correctly, that's the first time they were doing it. I'm not sure if they are doing the same thing for this cycle though.

I don't think it's a bad idea, definitely makes you focus on what is important and what you would choose to highlight about yourself.

Yes, I think its a great idea. You get to have a more objective analysis of your interview( the video), because the entire adcom gets to watch you. The school can still determine how you interact with others by the general tour throughout the day ( where you are in a group, Brian( the one that takes you on a tour) will ask 1 or 2 basic questions to everyone.

What would you want to say in the interview-- Do they give you anything to start with?

This is what they said in the interview packet:

"The statement should be 3-5 minutes long and showcase your verbal skills, as well as reinforce your desire of becoming a dentist by addressing what sets you apart from other applicants and what information you would like the admissions committee members to consider when they review your application. "

Thanks for the heads up. I bet they do this again this admissions cycle.

I am not sure, but this type of interview gets me kind of nervous. But I guess it all depends on how you look at it. I can see some people getting pretty upset with this type of interview. The idea that you spent all that money to fly over there to sit in front of a camera is kind of up in the air

Can't wait for all this fun to go down!

All of them really. I would really like to see NYU and Columbia though. They got such a bad rap, but they really are good schools. It'll be nice to take a tour (if all goes well!).

Those are the 2 schools that I didn't apply to. I think take a tour of all the schools will be so much fun. I am just so excited!

Speaking of secondaries, I haven't even received one yet 😕 Are you guys like in the first or second batches?

Only 6/27 + 7/4 mailed applications (first and second batch people) Have gotten anything yet.

lol might as well send in a tape like Elle Woods did in "Legally Blonde".

Personally, i think its a good way to standardize the interviews.

Should we get silly and ask people what number is in the upper right corner of their secondary application? I've got a number 1. See last year's post for the nonsense.

Do the numbers represent groups or is each secondary given a distinct number?

I have no idea. I think last the last word on it was that it's just a filing thing for Temple. A little organization technique or something. But it got people wondering if it had something to do with batches or mailing groups. Just another hot rumor/mystery to pass the time.

Doesn't seem to fully follow the batching order, but interesting find. It might just be a filing thing...there are so many factors to pick off of it'd be hard to pinpoint. Good luck to all!

All I know is I want the secondary sooner rather than later.

Interesting, even though I doubt it really matters.

(number 1 on mine btw and I was in the first batch).

uh mailed out on 7/4 but i havent heard from temple yet!? am i missing something?

I was out in the first batch(6/28) and completed in the second (7/4-DAT Scores) and I received Temple's secondary July 28th

It's sad that one of the hot topics this application cycle is whether we received a secondary app or not !
