It will be another year before I take my mcat. I've had the fortune to speak with a couple of physicians who mentioned that they would be happy to write a recommendation for me. I don't want to lose the opportunity (one is retiring soon and may be leaving the area). May I hold on to recommendations written for me, or are they to be sent directly to a med school, or other organization without my handling? If I am allowed to receive the recommendation, would a dated recommendation that is one to two years old be improper to submit? Thanks for your advice on this.
