Terry Nails - help?!

I thought I'd post this on the Derm site hoping that someone would get back to me . . . .

I recently discovered that my husband has Terry nails and to a lesser extent so do I - I think it's diet related since both of us have it. What can I do to fix it? And when should we go see a doctor about it?
