i was wondering what sort of test day foods do people recommend bringing on test day

I always brought some light snacks and some kinda sub for lunch. You likely won't have access to a fridge. Bring some liquids. Honestly I think people read too much into this "I gotta sleep perfectly the night before eat the perfect foods etc". It is an 8 hour test, you're going to be jazzed up for it regardless, just get 'er done and don't sweat the small stuff.

I would recommend having proteins early on (1st four blocks) with moderate to low carbohydrates early on in the session. Then later, maybe in the last few hours, you can do a carb surge to give you a boost.

Protein shake, almonds or walnuts, caffeine, NSAIDs, fruit, etc. I wouldn't do any junk food - but I know that's a habit for some.

I would also recommend protein shakes/smoothies and definitely water. For a good snack, I found an Omega 3 trail mix that had all the high "focus foods" in it and actually tasted pretty great. You can find it in a grocery store near the nuts.
