Today was a good day. I woke up, meet up with some friends I haven't seen since college, and had lunch at a lovely Tex-Mex place as we talked and catch up on life.

Then I came onto SDN ... saw neurotic premeds agonize over GPAs and MCATs and whether to work in a soup kitchen or fly to Central America to personally defend a remote village from invasions of fire ants. I miss those days.

I also checked out SDN's TEST PREP WEEK ... and saw all the deals and offers that various companies are offering for MCAT, PAT, DAT, USMLE, COMLEX, and even residency board reviews. Representatives are there answer people's questions about their products. Discounts and free stuff being offered. Pretty sweet.

they're also my kids though, so I don't think that qualifies.

They're with my mother this week to help me get through finals.
And my daughter is sick (ear infection, possible strep throat). She talked to me on the phone this morning and it was pretty heart breaking. "mommy, I want to go home" (sobbing all the while.):cry:

How far away is your mother's place? My mom wants to take a trip to San Diego with me. My dad offered to watch my girls for me for that weekend but I'm not sure I can leave them for two nights. 🙁 But I REALLY don't want to drive to San Diego with them either.

4 hours. They've been there since last Friday and I won't be in Iowa until next Tuesday night. Then I'll spend a week at my parents house.

Its really a long time, and I feel guilty because I'm really not studying very hard this week. I had a test that went fantastically Monday, I have a relatively easy anatomy practical tomorrow and then a BIG test over the year on Friday that doesn't count for anything.
