for those of you who have taken the test already. Is it possible to eat a quick snack between breaks? i mean, i'm taking a 1pm and was trying to figure out if a little drink or something is allowed outside in the lobby during those 10 min breaks...any comments?

i brought some food (raw greenbeans 😛 and a powerbar) and some gatorade in with me.. i had to check them in a locker while testing, but was able to have them during the breaks. 👍

sites may vary though, so if you're really concerned i would call the testing location ahead of time and verify what's allowed.

good call genesea, i guess i'll call these guys and ask about their policy. There's actually 2 places where i can take the test Univ Texas Austin and prometric center in Austin ill find out which place is the most laid back.

The morning I was taking my test, two people showed up and said that they'd be testing there in the near future and just wanted to see the place. They were able to scope out the break room, waiting room, and bathrooms. If you're really anxious about it, you can go and see for yourself how things work.

You should be assigned a locker to store your personal items (including snacks), and you should be allowed to leave the testing room at your leisure. So yes, you'll be able to eat a snack during your break. I used the bathroom and scarfed something down during every break.

My testing center was quite nice. There were 8 or 10 computers in little partitioned desk areas in a little room. Outside the room sat a proctor looking in/looking at security cameras to monitor the room. The door to get into the smaller testing room was very quiet. To get into the computer room you had to take fingerprints and have an ID with you. You WERE given a locker to hold food/drinks/snacks to eat during breaks. The testing center was suitably quiet and you were given headphones that blocked out most of the rest of the noise. You also were required to use the pencils that they gave you as well as scratch paper that they provided.
