Has anyone here done it before? I need to take this math placement exam so I can skip pre calc, I just have no idea how in depth the material will go, will it really be as in depth as a final pre calc exam?

I just did it about a month ago. My placement exam had just 20 questions, had an unlimited amount of time to do it, and you couldn't go back to previous questions. I took my last math class 20 years ago so there was some math on there that I once knew but had no idea how to do.

From what I remember, it had lots of algebra, some logs, and some trig which I didn't remember at all. You have to be able to factor and know your rules on exponents. I think there were some functions. One thing that saved me was that you don't actually have to know how to do a problem to get it right on a multiple choice exam. You can plug answers back into the original problem and find the correct choice. Despite remembering nothing about trig, I passed with room to spare.

I can't answer about a pre-calc final because I don't even know what is considered pre-calc. Is that the same thing as advanced algebra and trig?

i went right into calculus from high school.. i took math 12 a year ago and algebra wasnt as great as it was when i was in high school. i didnt need a placement exam.
however if u have the time to take pre-calc in college, DEFINITELY do it.. itll help u in some aspects and save you stupid mistakes when u actually need algebra. if i had the time i wouldve but it didnt work out.

I took that test but it was quite a few years ago. Back then I remember the test being quite easy, I passed it with flying colors.

It depends on your school how difficult it's going to be. One of my friends aced AP Cal and the placement test put him in pre-cal (wtf?)..So it really depends. I had taken pre-cal in hs and talked the counselor out of pre-cal so I went straight to cal. But trust me, cal has little to do with pre-cal. Pre-cal is like algebra on dope.
