OK.... this thread is meant to give hope to those still waiting!!

Since some of you have 3-4 acceptances in hand.... let's get crackin on making a decision 🙂 ...... j//k take your time if you'd like.

I suppose it might but it's worth a shot.... maybe there are a couple out there who really have their hearts set on a school and will pull out of the others 😀

Y'all go ahead and throw those Tech acceptances away. The school sucks, their faculty is mean and uncooperative, who wants to live in Lubbock, free sand blasting of tooth enamel keeps the fluoride stains down, Amarillo is only 2 hours away, nearest tree is 2 hours away, hell anything resembling life as we know it is at least 2 hours away.....:meanie:

Haven't done it yet.. but I will. Going to UTMB!! i know it sucks waiting though so I wanted to let people know spots will be opening up and I won't be waiting until the deadline...

Probably, but I want to give it some serious thought before I announce it...I guess I don't want to rush it. I'm one of those indecisive people that have to think a problem through at least 100 times and triple check-it in order to make sure I make the best decision.

But I will decide by the deadline, and I'll let you guys know. 😍

Even thought I haven't gotten the official acceptance packet in the mail, how do we go about withdrawing an acceptance(s).

This is what the TMDSAS site says: "Applicants who choose to withdraw from one or more schools must notify each school and TMDSAS in writing via letter, fax or email of their decision."

Anyone who have gotten the mail, are there instructions as to how to w/draw?

I just got my TCOM packet in the mail. In it were two sheets, one to accept and one to decline. Not sure about other schools.

Also...can we accept to more than one school to see which one gives you the most money?

Hey guys, for sure I am turning down my UTMB, Texas A&M, and Tech. I am holding on to the Houston and UTSW and will decide from them. Hope that helps 3 people!🙂

UTMB: less time spent in lecture hall, not having to move between years 2 & 3, board scores, much more patient contact in first 2 years, closer to my family, not located in a college town

don't get me wrong -- because i did love A&M when i visited, i had just always had my heart set on UTMB and knew if i was accepted it would be very very hard to change my mind... also have UTSA acceptance but its still lingering in my mind for futher comparison with UTMB so i have not decided 100% to decline it

Hey, any out of state applicants who got an acceptance from Texas A&M plan to withdraw an acceptance? If so, that would be great news for me as I am waiting next in line😎
 
Can you accept multiple schools before jan 15th cause UTMB said you have till January 15th and other schools like UTH and AM said you have to decide by dec 1st so if you were torn between two schools with early deadlines and am waiting for hopefully another school could you keep both or will they the schools find out and reject them or something like that
 
but of course those without acceptances appreciate people who are able to decide much earlier than dec 31
 
I know that flow chart but UTH and AM both say you have to send them a reply by December 1st so i was wondering if you didn't and did wait till sometime after december 1 and before jan 15 if they would take your name off the list or something. i will probably decide earlier because i don't want to hold spots i don't want but i don't know if schools will keep sending out pre match offers after the initial send outs DOES ANYONE KNOW otherwise like UTSW or UTH sending out more before Dec 31st
 
your reply for december 1 is non-binding, it's basically u saying you'll consider them for acceptance. if you decide you don't want it later, then you'll send them another letter before jan 15, so that you'll only hold onto one prematch acceptance.

man i don't know... if you read the letters it is not written that way... it seems more like they want you to commit or drop your spot.
 
hmm i don't have a letter so i don't know how it's worded. i'm just going by what the assistant deans and whatnots told us at interviews.

also, isn't this kind of like amcas schools, you get multiple acceptances that you have to mail them a preliminary response by a certain date only to make a final decision later on?

that's how it all worked in my head anyways...

call up the schools tomorrow and let us know

just got off the phone with both tcom and a&m... they said that signing those agreements only means that you are thinking about them seriously. if you sign decline, then that means you are giving up your seat completely and not interested at all. future dr house was right.
 
The UTMB letter says that by accepting they reserve a spot for you in the class. The UTSA letter said to let them know if a school of higher choice offers admission so they can withdrawl your acceptance. Basically, you can accept everywhere until Jan 15. I already accepted one school, but am waiting for my top choice.


Also, I called UTSW, and they said that there would be additional pre match admissions given out before the Dec. 31 deadline.
