I'm thinking the same thing. Over all, it's probably best not to get ones hopes up. I don't think I'll be disappointed because I know the people that interviewed with me would all make great doctors. There's no reason to feel bad. Of course, if I don't get in next year I'll set the building on fire.
I had a validation date just a few days before the big match so I wouldn't worry about that.
Has any of you been sleeping, eating, drinking, studying thinking about the match? Because I am. My friends are getting irritated because when I talk to them, I always change the subject to the match and I really don't wanna talk about anything else. This is what usually happens when I start having a crush on a guy 😛
First rule about the match...don't talk about the match.
I did however dream a couple of days ago that I was talking to the dean of admissions at Tech who sort of winked when I asked him if there was a spot for me. I was all really excited when I woke up, just to be immediately pissed that it was a dream.

i'm planning a special valentine's day, and i've decided not to look at the match until the next day (when my valentine is elsewhere). it's going to be the ultimate test of will.
See, the problem is that I think I scared my last valentine off with "med school is my life" attitude. 🙁

I had a similar dream except that Mr. T and Biggie Smalls were my interviewers. All we did was get drunk. I thought it was pretty counter-productive but went along with it. Then Biggie started taking his clothes off and the kool-aid man busted through the wall. Then I realized it wasn't a dream at all and that the match really is driving me to insanity.

hahaha there are only 3 business days left!!!!!! what does a validation date mean anyway? that they validated my courses? i haven't finished my postbac program yet. hahaha, i'm going to sign off of SDN now. this is killing me and i have a lot of crap to do haha.

Validation is a process that TMDSAS does for those applicants who have received at least one interview. We go through each applicant's Record of College Work and verify that what has been entered matches exactly to what is on each transcript. In order to validate your coursework, we must have all of your transcripts (from every university/college ever attended).

1. What would you do if you if you encountered that certain TMDSAS employee whom you've had multiple encounters with?
2. What in the hell do you think these 'people' (and I use this loosely because I'm not exactly sure they have the emotional characteristics to catagorize them as people) look like?

Hmmm... I think you can use Yahoo briefcase. http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc//home
But I don't think there's a way to do it through SDN.

I've just been occasionally logging on so I'm a little behind: Validation and an apparent computer fluke with those that pre-matched seeing their matches moved to different schools?

imo opinion the validation date theory is a lot stronger than the lmfu theory.... why would tmdsas waste time updating someones grades if they don't have to... those tmdsasers im sure don't like to do work for no reason.

There is no reason why they woulndt just validate everyone that had 1 interview like they said on their site. It's not like they've been doing that much these last couple months.
ANd if they started validating since pre-match offers began, that gives them a good 3 months to validate some thousands of interviewees which isnt too bad.

well , for instance my LMFU is 2-1-07 which is good to see but who knows.
but I agree that the validation correlation may be more real. But for people like me who had no pre-match offers and a Validation date back in December or earlier then they were validating someone without a matched school back in Dec. and it seems unlikely that match lists were submitted in December so who knows?

or maybe they validated those who sent in their fall transcripts to keep the profile more accurate... My validation date changed 01/26 which was about the time that i sent in my updated transcript

I didnt send in anything new and my validation date is 1/26 so i dont think fall transcripts matter that much. Why would they have to validate those anyways, they arent factored into your GPA that you applied with.
well my fall transcripts were sent in 1/25 and my validation date was 1/26 and my GPA (which went down by a lot) was updated in my new profile
Dunno then, none of any of this makes any sense. I guess there is a reason why the other 99% of US med schools use AMCSAS.
Well, I put my song about the match on Yahoo briefcase but it says I have to subscribe to the premium membership in order to share it. Is there any way around paying money? This song is decent at best and not worth me spending a dime on.

Ok, I found a way to display my song on the internet. If you're on myspace you can go to http://www.myspace.com/texasmedschoolsong. Before you do, there are some things to mention. One, I'm not a singer and I can barely play guitar even when not singing. So, no, it isn't a great song. It's something I came up with while I was drinking last night. All disclaimers aside, it is a song about the Texas match and is therefore the BEST song about the Texas match ever created (I'm guessing no one else has ever written about the Texas match). I guess in all fairness it is also the worst song evr written about the match...

ahhh, i don't think i'm getting in this year either. my validation date hasn't changed, which probably means they haven't bothered to make sure my grades match my transcripts.

Waiting is def not fun I'll agree with that. Fortunately I'll be working until 11pm that night so when I get home it'll be almost time! Though, working in the hospital, I'm seeing the residents constantly, making me think even more than when I'm home!!!!!!!
