i had a "last master file update" of 110606 but no change for validation date. what does this mean?!?!

I agree, but they could always yank your acceptance if you lied about your grades. That way doesn't make the most sense (checking before handing out acceptances does, IMHO) but I'm just playing Devil's Advocate.

With regard to this, Have any of the OOSers with acceptances been validated?

I agree that acceptances could be revoked if you lied, but my point is not about lying. I am just trying to think practically, so maybe we will get to know about an acceptance? 😉 Well, we will see with how they did it with the out of state acceptances and maybe that should give us a hint.
 
I'm so freakin annoyed by texas schools right now. What's the point of doing your own application service when your system sucks even worse?

You seem more relieved than excited. I'm guessing they aren't one of your top choices.

if i remember correctly from previous years threads, i think it means nothing...

Actually A&M is one of my top choice schools. I was very impressed with the school, students and scott & white when I visited there. Also family is close to the school.
Anyways, good luck everyone.

How can you tell if you've been validated? I'm OOS and got accepted to UTHSCSA a few weeks ago, but logging into TMDSAS, nothing really looks any different than it did before.

I know they have all my transcripts at least, since I had to resend them twice, the second time finally certified, then verify by phone that they had everything... all thanks to our most efficient USPS.

It was true for me. Everything snail mail with them.

Validation date in the top right corner of the applicant profile says something other than 000000

Alright... this wait is going to kill me. I've been really good up until last night. Now the time is starting to pass minute by minute. I'm sure everyone else is feeling the same thing, I just had to vent.

Hopefully... after all this waiting... I at least hear good news from somewhere!!!!!!!!!! I interviewed at three schools, UTMB, UTSA, and TCOM... I've been trying to figure out my ranking of the three but I'm having a difficult time. UTMB and UTSA were at the beginning of August so I'm having a hard time remembering my tours etc. I know I loved them both, but I can't remember the details!

Anyway... 8 more days!!! So short, but oh so long...
 
Just got an invite from UTMB for Nov 17. Whew!! That was close.

Got my invite too for UTMB. It seems like we are getting out invites at the same time, Zulu. Here's hoping that the rest come in soon!

j/k. congrats to those that got acceptances. I hope I hear something come the 15th from one of the schools I interviewed with. 11/15 is gonna suck though. I know that I won't be getting anything right on that day but I'm gonna be ambushing the mailman anyway. and probably everyday after that till December or till I get a letter.

Does anyone else wish that they would either send a letter of acceptance or a letter telling you to wait till the match process? Then at least you know where you stand. I dunno, I like the idea of holding on for hope, but still, would be nice to just know if you are going to have to wait for the match process in Feb.
 
I have a question about sending thank you notes. Where do you guys send thank you notes to? Do you send it to admission offices and they forward it to you interviewers or how does it work?

I send direct, I'm not looking to have them put in my file, just being corteous.

Thanks for the response. That's my question. How do you send it to them directly without sending to the admission committee? How do you get the adress that will reach them directly?

Most of the websites have mailing info for faculty. I was lucky enough to have most of my interviewers volunteer to give me business cards, which helped.
 
I had one interviewer tell me not to bother with a thank you note, he said the interviewers at this particular school fill out evalutions of the applicant the day of the interview. I only wrote notes to my actual interviewers, not the admissions committee - but maybe write the head of admissions if you really wanted? So thats my two bits....

seven more days till Nov. 15....

Most of the TX schools seem to do that.
 
I have been verified by TMDSAS for awhile now, but my application is incomplete at Tech. I'm still missing a letter of reference and certification page (I had already sent this to TMDSAS awhile back now). Do I just wait for TMDSAS to send this to Tech? Is it too late, since so many have been offered interviews?

It's likely that they have it, but just haven't updated the status page. You could call to make sure.
 
Ahhh...I'm getting nervous. The schools have been pretty quiet with me so far in regards to interviews...I wonder if they are still reviewing the August MCAT scores?? 😕
 
i have an interview at tech in el paso this weekend. Any ideas or suggestions about which hotel to stay t - preferably near the med center? Also should I rent a car or rely on cabs?

Have we figured out whether the in-state letters will be going out via email or snail mail on the 15th? (Maybe I'm just oblivious...)
 
Anyone know if A&M is filling their class with rolling admissions or not? Though Filo said they were, my interviewer said they were not. Plus I remember someone mentioning on this thread that they were going to decide that sometime soon.
 
If I don't get in this year, I am moving to Texas. I am in love w/ UT-Houston.

Has anyone heard from them yet? :luck:

Filo is Dean of Admissions. I would go by what he said.
 
any recommendations for hotels in el paso for tech?
 
I have used orbitz.com when booking hotels. But don't believe it if it says that a particular hotel has no avaliable rooms for that date, give the hotel a call anyways. That or contact the school and see if they have a list of recommendations. I know Tech had a list for the Lubbock location, so they might have one for El Paso.

Use Hotels.com, they're much better. Definitely have the lowest rates online.

I can't give you a good one - I stayed at a crummy La Quinta on I-10 and wouldn't recommend it. There are at least three of them on the same road, so others might be nicer. Anything along I-10 will be easy to get to the med center and airport. I rented a car - so no experience with cabs. Rentals were pretty cheap though. Good luck.
