Whoa, where did you get that info? That's unlikely that they would wait for that long to send acceptances. I thought, from what the lady in the adcom said, that they would have a lot of acceptances before January since it takes them two weeks to decide after each interview. Besides, they can start sending out acceptances in the middle of Oct.
 
Baylor gives out invites every two weeks, right? Also, do they go back and reconsider applications like mine that were not initially deemed worthy of an interview?

Yeah. The person TherealMD is referring to probably got off the waitlist. One of my good friends interviewed at Baylor in Jan; got her acceptance *off the waitlist* in April or May. The first day you can hear back from Baylor is Oct 15th, and they do roll from there on out. And yeah, it's every two weeks, because I hear that if you pwn the interview (after Oct 15), you receive an offer of admission within 2 weeks.

The dean of admissions at Baylor said that they'll assign you a priority score after you interview and start offering invites by priority score rank after October 15th. They'll extend a small handful of offers each week.

Oops, over-exaggerated a bit. It's as you said, acceptances are handed out after certain periods of time (2 weeks is what I've heard). However, they don't really finalize their class for a while (lots of shifting).
 
Who cares about Baylor. I sure don't. I've never met a doctor from Baylor and all the ones I have are living my dreams. Everyone needs to look past med school and see themselves ten years from now. Any school in Texas can get you there.

I find that the best thing to do is not to think about it. If it happens, great. If it doesn't, you still have a chance at the other schools. You can agonize over it, but no one can ever really guess exactly what the admissions committee is thinking.
 
THe kind of cupcake with sugary icing and sprinkles! Those are the best.

Entranced-- thanks for the compassion. Not that I wish guilt upon you, but still, that's nice of you 🙂. What were your stats? (Just to see if I'm in the range. Just from the feel I've gotten, I think they're mostly interviewing 35+ 's right now but hopefully they'll hit my range some point soon.)
 
By the way, thanks to all the people reassuring me with the time factor. My only fear is that no amount of time will help me get my interview because my stats may not be acceptable to Baylor.

today i called all the admissions offices for texas. all said that it is still early and that we all should not worry too much. 🙂 there is still time and space for all of us to get more interviews!

yay for me for starting to study for the january mcat!

the houston lady was sooo nice. 😀

I don't think you're alone here. I think Adam has a good point. I'd love to go to UTH or UTMB for a variety of reasons. At the end of the day (four years) we all end up with the same license and their really are no bad options in Texas. I do understand the desire for Baylor. It's a great school for sure. However, with your stats you are likely to get into a very good program somewhere. Just remember, your school won't make you a good doctor, you will.

I hope we get the invite soon as well! But we have to wait at the least two weeks if not more. They just sent out invitations today, so that means we won't hear for at least another two weeks. I really hope we hear in the next invitation batch. Please, Baylor Gods, send us some interviews!

Seriously guys, lets not go over-crazy until november rolls around, and there's still no interview invites. i have an interview in a couple days, and i havent even started prepping for it yet.

Absolutely! In fact, I am now live from my new desk tucked away in the corner of my lab. 😀 But I just realized what's really going to stink about working here...seeing interviewees come thru here every week! That's going to be rough 🙁
