Surprising, Mexican drug runners are notoriously poor shots.

I just think they don't want to add "murder" to the other charges. They shoot in the air, so the bosses hear them and think they are "solid".

The difference between manslaughter and varying degrees of murder has NOTHING to do with motivation, it is about intent. This isnt an issue of intent to kill, it's why you're doing the killing. There is a clear difference between intentionally killing someone and unintentionally killing them. Why should there be a difference between intentionally killing someone because they're gay and intentionally killing someone because you want to take their money?

I confused motive with intent.

Killing for personal gain and killing because of hate are two different beasts. Hate crime laws are as much about protecting those whom they cover as they are statements about our morals.

Manslaughter is just a plea-bargain, where the killer gets less time and the D.A. gets another conviction under his belt.

lol wut?!?!

I'd still love to be a texas resident...

So would everyone, Pardner. We all want to ride horses to the general store an shower with oil.

Them belt buckles shield your whole chest, making great body armour.

😕

Manslaughter is the act of unintentionally killing someone due to negligent actions on the part of the accused. Sure it's sometimes used as a plea bargain but so are second degree murder and life in prison.

imagine life without state income tax... (I don't really have income now since i'm a student, but i only only imagine it would be awesome).

Our property and illegal immigrant taxes are through the roof though.

This is a big problem in Canuckistan. Many plea bargain instead of risking being convicted of murder. I have seen revolting crimes. A 19 year old guy chased a 15yo kid for FOUR BLOCKS before stabbing him to death. Plea bargain... 3 years in the pen, day parole after 1, stat release after 2. A big guy's girlfriend knocks a guy unconscious by breaking a big glass bowl on his head over some drug issue. The big guy stabs the unconscious guy and kills him. Plea bargain, 5 years. I have many more examples. Crown attorneys in Canada do a great disservice to citizens by bargaining with the offenders. That and the Mickey Mouse sentences make the Canadian legal system a frigging joke. Attempted murder rarely gets more than 4 years and sentences are almost always served concurrently. My law enforcement years were THE most frustrating of my life.

I love Dallas, where men are men and women are hot.
Next time I go to Texas, I have to visit Houston and maybe some coastal cities as well.

The Lone Star state sounds amazing.

Texas has everything. I don't see a reason as to why I would ever leave.

As long as you travel and vacation in other states and countries to expand your horizons, there are no reasons to leave Texas to live somewhere else.

Texas and Arizona are two of the states I tell my fellow Canucks to visit, but not in the summer. Most Canadians think the places to visit are California, Hawaii, New York and Florida (find the odd man out in this list) and of course, Vegas. They need to be educated. Likewise, Texans and Arizonians should visit Canada, but not in the winter.

From Canada, live in TX. As a pre-med, I have now realized TX is awesome and I'm thankful that I live here. However, lifestyle-wise, I think I would prefer to live up north. The weather sucks down here. One day you have to wear three layers and the next day you're wearing shorts and flip-flops. (Weather's not the only factor...)

Really? I love the weather 😀

Being from California (and being raised in Texas), I can't stand any weather below 60 degrees (and thankfully it hasn't dipped below that in my part of TX in a while).

I'm gonna agree with you there I love the weather down here. 😀

I live in Texas and there are parts that I hate and parts I love. I love the major cities here -- Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio. Plus the medical center and M. D. Anderson cancer center are conveniently located.

I hate all the small towns that show up in between. I believe those people actually do ride horses or cowboys or whatever to school.

I couldn't agree more. If you wait about five minutes, the weather in Texas will change. Crazy sporadic weather.

I do like the weather these days though. Finally starting to cool down.

Having lived mostly in those small middle towns I both agree and disagree with this. Boerne wasn't half bad and I loved Georgetown, however I hate Alvin it is quite possibly the most boring place I have ever lived.

Sounds absolutely delightful! Would you happen to know which small town located in between Houston and Dallas has the biggest "Buccee's" store probably in the world? People in that town are extremely sweet and hospitable.

Idk I don't pay attention to the towns between dallas and houston, I usually refer that that area as the zone of alienation. Nothing happens there that I could ever care about or that would ever make me want to move anywhere in there. Anyplace that is a commuter city to a big city is fine, though in the area's where there is nothing (see Alvin for further interesting crappy small towns of reference), things can get so boring you want to incite a zombie apocalypse just for some fun.

Madisonville! Buccee's... 😍

Cleanest public restrooms in the world. Made-to-order hot sandwiches. Barbeque. Fudge. Coca cola/Dr. Pepper Icee's. Who knows how many kinds of homemade beef jerky. Yep, it's Awesome.

I always pass by that place ... maybe I should stop by there one of these days.

Haha, I had always passed it even though a lot of my friends recommended it. A few weeks ago went I went through I was really hungry/needed some caffeine so I finally decided to stop. Now I can't resist stopping there!

I'll say Arizona has some of the best weather in the country. It's never cold, no natural disasters, and there's nothing better than cold beer by the pool in Summer (and no humidity ever!). 😎

Agreed, Arizona has absolutely incredible weather and landscapes.

I went to Phoenix over winter break and I agree the weather was great.

Don't forget the dust storms.

^ I'd rather be dead in California than alive in Arizona.

Ehh both are better than the midwest. Snow on snow on snow

Not THAT much snow! Look at Alaska and Canada. Alaska is also one of my favourite states, but for different reasons than Texas and Arizona. Just bring your own woman, though. They're pretty scarce over there.

Case in point, the other night it snowed in the DFW area. Tomorrow it's going to be 75 degrees. 😕
