I am still waiting on TTech and TAMU. I hope they didn't forget about me!

I am from El Paso and TTech would be a great school! (if UT SW and others aren't willing).

I haven't heard from tech or A&M yet either (every other school has responded except UTSW)........when I called them last week, they both informed me that my application was just recently "processed" by them and ready to be reviewed.......

My TMDSAS was processed 7/21, so don't fret guys, those schools are a little slower 🙂

Ok I am feeling a little better about not hearing from UTSW or tech then...This stuff breeds paranoia. I really didn't know I was that obsessive until I started checking SDN every day and checking my email multiple times. We're all super early, so I guess we should all chill and enjoy what's left of our break. Congrats to all of you getting interviews! I hope everyone has a nice RELAXING Sunday 🙂

Since I'm not at the address where I receive mail from medical schools, would it be proper for me to call UTMB to see what the status of my application is (especially since they do not e-mail interview invites)?

Yes, I had to do the same thing. They will tell you if you got an interview over the phone, and if you want, they will snail mail you another packet at your other address.

Yes, I had to do the same thing. They will tell you if you got an interview over the phone, and if you want, they will snail mail you another packet at your other address.

I did this last Friday--lady at UTMB said snail mail goes out Monday.

I didn't really think about it when I was applying because I was still at school, out-of-state. I am just visiting my parents here this week and then flying back up to school to finish up my senior year. I never really figured that the week I would be away from school would be a week where I would potentially receive invites.

By the way, any Texas residents here that attend out-of-state schools?

AsianDoc, I haven't recieved anything but Houston....I'm away from home and I'm unable to check the mail. I want to call San Antonio and Galveston but I don't know what to say.

Well I just called.....apparently TMDSAS hadn't sent off my LOR's with my application when it was processed. They said to check back in a couple of days to see if it was just in a different shipment and hasn't been filed with my application. This stinks! My application was complete and ready to go by the end of June! Oh well..such is life.

I talked to someone in admissions. I knew it was admissions because they said to call back later in the afternoon after interviews were over with.

Did you get an email from A&M? When were you TMDSAS processed?

I called Tech and they just finished "processing" my application last week--they are a little slow, so you might try calling them. I know they just send out emails to invite ppl.

Be happy with a weeks notice, I am out of state so they assume late, I got an interview from UTSW for October 2. The cool thing was it was only two days after I was processed!

i went to Emory and i'm now in med school at UTHSCSA as an in-state resident 🙂 there are a decent number of people who went to school out of state - it doesn't really hurt or help you as far as i know as long as you're a legally a texas resident

i called up UTSA today and they said app still being processed., whatever that means.

Has anyone who has an interview at UTSA next monday heard back from them about staying with a student on sunday night? Just wondering cause I have heard nothing and I put my request in a few weeks ago.

The UTSA interview went exceptionally well (I thought...maybe I just had good interviewers). Day starts at 10 with Dr. Jones giving a speech, student panel of MS IV comes in to answer whatever questions we have for an hour. They were really helpful...but just to let you know, they might also be your interviewers and they lead the campus tour. Lunch, tour or multimedia thing, and then from 1-4 you're basically left on your own except for the hour or so you're in interviews. Pretty standard day...feel free to PM me if you have more questions. 🙂

By the way, UTSA really emphasizes the applicant as a person. Dr. Jones said that last year, they accepted people with 20-40 MCAT, 2.6-4.0 GPA. He said that they accept 20-30 ppl every year who didn't get interviews anywhere else and rejected some with 35+ and 3.5+.

Bright Star: They didn't get back to me (by email) until the Friday before my interview on Monday...by then, I'd already made other arrangements so I didn't stay with a student. I did hear that some other students heard back from them a lot earlier than I did.

yep it was processed perfectly and I am even sure they recieved it, i just havent hear from any school...can you tell me how long it took you to get your frist interview call after your application reached the medical school?

oh! hhehe sorry about that...i am a little panic-y so i am just answering everybody's questions~

Well, my application was processed on 8/4 which was excatly 1 month after they recieved it. and the 'c' for complete did not appear on my satus page till it was 1month, ie.after they finished the processing.

Yep. And trust me, you'll know way before it comes thru snail mail that it was processed. It will probably take exactly 4 weeks (on a Wednesday or Thursday) from the date they received your 3 items to be processed. Right before its processed, your online applicant profile will be partially filled out, so watch out for some movement there around the 4th week.

Congrats on the sucessful interview!! I've got mine on the 23rd--I am really excited about UTSA.
