Can somebody please post a list of hotels in College Station as suggested by A&M? I haven't received a letter detailing this yet. Is anybody else going to be at A&M on 9/16? Also, there is a shuttle service provided between the Temple and College Station interviews, right? Did anyone drive?

Yes...you are a dork. 😛 Drbevo is right...those are interesting deductions. But I know of people who have already gotten invites to UTSW with below 31 on their MCAT. What's making the difference in their applications?

Well if 400-450 get automatic invites, and 579 in-staters got interviews in 2003, then about 150 people or so who don't make the cutoff are reviewed by adcom. Of course, this is all speculation 😉

Only UTSW secondary remains incomplete. Kudos to all the interviewees. Maybe I will join you soon 👍

you do realize that there are people who will be applying in october. these same people will get interviews and (gasp!) some of them will even get in. just because you've been processed at the end of the first week of september doesn't mean you should lose all hope.

get a grasp on reality, people. i swear people on this site are so neurotic...ugh.

No need to worry...you are just a little bit later (not late) in the process, so there are alot more applications for them to sort through. In the meantime, feel free to vent your frustrations here!

Did you call the schools to make sure they have everything? (Just ask them if your file is "complete" and ready to be reviewed by the adcom)

I stayed at the Hilton....it really wasn't too expensive (below $100). The letter takes a while to come, so don't worry. Yes, there is a shuttle that will drive you to Temple, but the only disadvantage is that you have to wait until everyone finishes their interviews to have the van drive you back to College Station. I think it's better to drive yourself unless you're from A&M.

I'm in the same boat, but its UTSA (excuse me, *cough*, UTHSCSA) that is giving me the cold shoulder. You've got 4 great schools to interview at and then when the UTMB invite comes you will have had 4 interviews under your belt and you can wow the socks off them!

Actually, I am glad that I am interviewing at my top choices last becuase I have seen other schools and can really do a good comparison.

Best of luck...and I hope those interviews come through for you.

my weekend: head to houston tonight for tomorrows baylor interview. then drive immediately back home (i live around fort worth) tomorrow night and go to bed, so i can get enough rest for my southwestern interview which starts at 9am.

Your third and fourth year (fourth yr. if you choose) will be spent in Temple at the VA Hospital and Scott and White. You will get a chance to see the facilities where you will spend countless hours at. They are building a new hospital, so it should be coming right along.

Same here with UTSA. I got first day interviews at UTMB, UTH, and Tech but not a peep from SA. My advisor told me not to worry about it yet. He said that they don't really make any sense sometimes, and can be a little disorganized.

I want to hear from Tech, SW or A&M. Has anybody done the new status check on Tech's website? It says they still don't have my LOR's *sigh* and they don't have my fee. In addition, farther down the page it has a few other errors. I emailed them and all they responded was...yep we have your fee. They didn't address any of the other issues and it has not been updated on the status page. I just want to interview there and it's taking forever to get straightened out.

BTW, UTSA is very disorganized...or at least that's the impression that the registrar's office gave me when I called. They are very nice so give them up a ring and make sure everything is alright with your app. They didn't have my LOR's and still don't (b/c of TMDSAS) but they still gave me an interview....maybe b/c I called so many times. 🙂

I sent in five; I think the that the optimal number is four....or that's what I've heard. Two is definitely not enough; I've always heard that the minimum is three letters. Hope that helps....

I checked just now and mine still says the same, missing the LORs, the fee and the sig page - it's said that for the last two weeks. But I know my check cleared back in JULY! And I did e-mail them yesterday but have not heard anything back from them.

You know how each school posts their matriculants GPA averages... how does a grad GPA figure into it. Are graduate GPA's totally separate or are they combined into it. Also does TMDSAS separate the undergrad and grad GPA or combine them?

I know that UT-Houston doesn't look at reapplicants right away. To them, reapplicants are last on the pecking order since they interview so many people. I called the Dean of Admissions and asked this past summer. Sucks because I would love to study in the Med Center.

Okay, my original post was dead wrong. I got an interview for UT-Houston today. I wonder why the Dean told me that 😕...oh well, I'm happy.

Tech does interviews on Wednesdays in Lubbock and Fridays in El Paso. When you get your interview invite, you will receive a choice for three interview dates. I've never heard of anyone going to El Paso, and since most of us are from central Texas, Lubbock is closer.

San Antonio interviews on Mondays
TCOM interviews on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (with smaller groups--about 10 each)

Send in your latest transcripts (including spring and summer) and you should be good to go. That sentence was for all of the early birds (like me) who began filling out the app in May.

This might sound stupid or silly, but Baylor has been my dream school ever since freshman year, after a rep came to UT and made me drool. I haven't even had the "official" tour, and I'd give my right arm to attend school there. Congrats on finishing your interview 🙂

you can just send it to TMDSAS, and they'll update your app; youre supposed to update them after each semester. (personally, im going to wait on this as long as possible/until they hunt me down, because my gpa will go down if i get anything less than all As, which aint happening this semester)

Actually I think your GPA is frozen the moment you are processed. Your transcript updates are sent to all the schools and they see your new grades, but no new GPA is actually calculated.
