Only last night? Ive cried for about 2 hours every 3 hours lol.


Yeah, my nerves are about shot. My coworkers/friends/family are on my back every hour about have a heard, and its just tearing me up.

my nerves are shot too. This is ridiculous, nothing on texas tech, but they could at least shoot us an email on the situtaion? I've been reshing pages for like 2 days now......

I CAN totally relate to your coworkers part. they keep asking me....
 
several people on this thread including myself have already called them over teh past couple of days to ask about the situtation.

Ok I just called. They said that the AdCom isn't finished meeting, and they won't be meeting today due to interviews.

My nerves are killing me!! 🙁

Thank you for calling. I think I'm going to develop tourettes now....

they couldnt finish before interviews and they told everyone we'd know by 2/6 LOLOLOOLOLOOL..UGH!! they might as well just tell us in July geez
 
I wish they would send out an email updating everyone, if I hadnt found this thread I would be in a deep pit of despair thinking I was the only one who hadnt heard back yet. I just worry about others that are beating themselves up that were told Wed and have no clue why they havent heard yet. This is an important thing, and I think it could really affect people who are outside the circle of information.

I know right! I wonder what's taking them so long. The lady I spoke to also said you could email Mike S. and he will tell you exactly whats going on.

Thanks for calling Jessica! Someone needed to do it lol. They're probably getting tired of us calling but they need to hurry up! I'm freaking out.

We SHOULD find out next week. If not I may go insane. Oh well I trust them to take their time and make the best decision.

hahah yeah but you actually have to be accepted to participate in that clerkship. :laugh: but yeah. Good program. I am more worried about getting in right now.

I think they also had one in veterinary pharmacy but that may have just been an elective. Regardless, Tech has awesome rotation sites.
 
Ok ppl everyone needs to take a deep breath and calm down. I know everyone is nervous to find out (believe me I've been there) but worrying about it this much is not healthy.
Keep urself busy; study for class, clean ur apt, clean ur lab, clean ur pharmacy (get expired drugs off the shelf & label soon to expire), go exercise, do some yoga, meditate, go volunteer somewhere, play Facebook games, if u have a significant other go have sex, and if all else fails there is always alcohol! Getting into bad habits now isn't a good thing; think about what u'll do in pharmacy school when it gets stressful. Believe me when u start seeing what that kinda stress does to ur body, u'll start freaking out.
Mike Nall was telling us last week that it's hard for the ad com to meet b/c there have been vacancies so some ppl have had to take on extra duties & that's what's been messing with their schedules.
So everyone stay calm well as much as u can at least. Not thinking about it helps.

I was really freaking out also but this thread has calmed SOME nerves. At least im not the only one.

Well what else changes your mood drastically in a short period of time......naturally (that wouldn't show up on a drug test)?

I've actually had to be put on medication before to manage my anxiety and it's not fun. I had a lot of side effects associated with it (I threw up every morning if I didn't take the medication with enough food) and it gets expensive. Recently with the stress of my grad program, I've noticed more hair starting to turn white, a lot of hair just fell out, I lost more weight (close to being below 10% body fat), became dependent on alcohol a little bit too much (I had to drink just to grade lab reports :scared:), I even had kidney stones b/c I wasn't drinking enough water b/c I was working in the lab too much (that was extremely painful :uhno:), and I've noticed that I have wrinkles now (for a girl that's a big deal). Moral of the story don't stress yourself out b/c in the end it's not worth it to do that much damage to your body.

FYI laughing and sleeping help with the stress too!

I have little on which to base my answer below (other than my interview with them), so take it with a grain of salt. I am not a member of the AdCom, and I can't tell you with certainty what they are looking for. Everything I write here is based on what I personally took away from the interview.

1) Enjoy it! It's long, but pleasant.

2) Look over the SDN Interview Feedback page. It really helps you get a sense of the questions they ask. I can't stress this enough. It won't necessarily tell you any or every question, but you'll understand what they are looking for. Be prepared to explain each part of your answer thoroughly and thoughtfully. I think they are looking to see how you act in certain situations, and they want to see well-reasoned, goal-oriented thought.

3) There is a group portion of the interview, and you basically have to give a small presentation. Be comfortable and ready to do this. Some of my group members were meek and didn't speak out when they could have. Be prepared to justify your logic, and don't be afraid to think outside the box (within reason). Don't be afraid to answer questions with conviction if you're confident of your answer. Don't be cocky though. Also, make sure you treat it like it is -- a group exercise. I found it fun to exchange ideas with the other interviewees.

4) Enjoy the breaks and take advantage of the opportunities to ask the students questions. They were incredibly approachable. Get a feel of the school -- make sure it's right for you!

5) The test is nothing to worry about. It's bizarre, and you certainly leave it wondering about one or two questions. But it sounded pretty unimportant from the way it was described.

It's going to be alright. Take a deep breath everyone. What I know is the more you wait for it the more painful the process. Just ignore it and woalah the email will come!!

Just go hang out w friends and family. The answer will come.

hahahah its ok! man I got some bad humor as well. I was jsut afraid the adcoms might read this thread so I try to avoid anything inappropriate.. haha my fault for quoting the sex part! LOL dont take it personally. we are still best of buds!! good luck!

ahah rxtech believe it or not. This isnt even my list of top schools...UNTIL after the interview blew my mind away. I was very very impressed and all of a sudden, it's hard to believe that I might be turning down an instate school if I get into texas tech! good luck every!

I didn't even go to my Tech interview because my top choice was UH and I got in the day before my Abilene interview, but I have to say I absolutely love reading this thread for Tech. You guys have awesome personalities and seem to be pretty damn dedicated. Best of luck to all of you and I'm positive each and every one of you will go on to become great Pharm Ds!

🤣 clam down guys I'm married. But I get guy humor considering I was only one of a handful of girls in my grad program. I'm use to guys saying stupid stuff to me and I just laugh at them. Just make sure you don't get all lovey-dovey on me or else :slap:
 
I'm just going to go ahead and resign myself to this wednesday, it seems like they are able to meet on tues and wed and hopefully wed at the earliest. The weekend sucked, but I also thought about the fact that they have to finish going through it and then email us, probably the next day. Hope the news is soon, but I'm considerably less stressed about it now that I've had to wait half a week anyway 😉
