Well, I took the "specialty aptitude test".

I 'admitted' was a terrible listener, wanted immediate tangible results, and wanted to be a technical expert. (all true, alas...I'm a flawed personality)

Well, guess what the test recommended for a personality with such "toothbrushery" :

1. thoracic surgery 2. otolaryngology 3. orthopaedic surgery
4. Ob/Gyn 5. nuclear med 6. pulmonology 7. cardiology 8. plastic surgery 9. general surgery 10. urology 11. aerospace med 12. neurosurgery 13. infectious disease

Surgeons are jerks.

Actually, yea, if you incoming girls could copy the look of the photos at that website you'd be set.

Kidding aside, this 'spring training' is meant to be a relaxing, fun wknd. I know when i went to our 'st' i thought it was gonna be some stuffy professional thing but it was completely opposite, as will yours be. We have a test friday afternoon and we are all gonna be ready to let loose so be ready to have fun.

And i'll apologize in advance for making an ass of myself...can't wait to meet you guys!
 
Wow...it felt good to finally be registering for MED SCHOOL CLASSES instead of more undergrad! Looking forward to meeting you guys this weekend...(i'll unfortunately be the guy who gets there an hour late b/c my plane won't get in until 7:00)

This is the e-mail I got a while back. So, you may want to check your old emails to see if you received this as well.
 
Nope, gmail does not find any of the search terms. I'm positive I didn't get the email.
 
I didn't get that email either. I feel better that I'm not the only one.
 
yeah justdoit and i were talking about this a while back (she got that email, i didn't) and based on people that we each new with it and without it, it seems as though people that pre-matched got the email sometime around their acceptance...

but those of us who matched, seems like maybe someone forgot to send out that batch email...?



maybe one us who didn't get the email should pull the naive card and ask about the creation code and CRNs.

i call not it
 
If this were undergrad, I'd be worried about not graduating on time because the classes filled up before I registered for them...
 
I think that is what happened. Those of us who pre-matched got the e-mail and they must of forgot to send it out again to those who matched.

Gerald, was it in response to an email you sent, or did you just get it out of the blue? (i wonder if they know that i don't have anything either...)

When are we supposed to be notified of our campus assignments?
 
basically the same response as gerald. should receive something by the end of the week.

how can we get tshirts for those of us who won't make it?
 
so just a heads up to ya'll, if you haven't done your Criminal background check you should do it ASAP. I went to register for class (i was a pre-match so i already had my eraider) and it told me i couldn't because i had a hold on my account.😱 When I clicked to find out why it informed me that I hadn't turned in my CBC... (oops)

So to answer the question from a gazillion posts ago of when does the CBC have to be done... apparently before the end of may since the email said we had to register by may 31st (or something like that).
 
Anyone have the link to the CBC website handy?

What t-shirt is everyone talking about?

Hmm, I can't seem to find the e-mail with that shirt. Still haven't gotten the one with registration numbers. I got the one with the powerpoint on how to register though. Strange.

Awesome shirt though, I want one now. 😛

Attached you will find the Spring Training Itinerary along with the view of the shirt we will be selling. On your shirts it will not say Class of 2012. The ones of you who already paid for/RSVPed for a shirt are for sure getting one. We will have several extras if you decide to purchase a shirt at registration.

Strange. I've got an e-mail from Lindsey with the itinerary, but it's not an attachment and there is no mention of the shirt. Did everyone else get that e-mail too and the one with the shirt is a follow-up or are there two versions of the e-mail?

yep... he gave the opening speech at my interview day, and i specifically remember it being unbelievably moving (like, i seriously wrote an email to ask him for the transcript/notes... but i felt really foolish and never sent it)

he set the tone for my impressions gained about tech, and eventually became the first (of many, many, many more) reasons tech became my #1 choice.

That's cool that he'll still be there for us. He only needs to hang around for one more 3 month session for us to get the full benefits of his expertise. It's so great having anatomy over with right away!

I did not get the email about what classes to register for. Wan't Linda Prado suppose to email us a course list. how did u figure it out?

and how do you get to registration. when i linked to registrar's office, it said contact ur specific school for adding and dropping courses.

Go to the MyTech tab and then click on the Add/Drop link and then enter the CRNs (which are the bold numbers above)
 
Naw, I'm skipping Biology of Cells and Tissues this year. I hear the professor for that is really hard 🙄
 
Well i'm officially in Lubbock... i have to say it feels sooooo wierd to think that this is going to become my home for 2 years. Going to find an apartment, meet some of ya'll at spring training, and then head back to college station to work for a few more months... I feel like there is this huge whirlwind of change happening and i have to admit it is both exciting and terrifying!
