they thought about releasing classes on bluray media, but then they realized that only 3 people on planet earth have a ps3 (me, tim, some japanese guy)

heck yeah and you know I have NCAA 08 pre ordered, I'm so glad it comes out before school starts, or I'd have to fail a class or two

Are any of you planning to go to any TT football games in Lubbock?

sorry to change the subject, but how "professional" is the attire during Bootcamp? do ppl go all out? The thought of wearing a jacket all day makes me weary. are open-toed heels allowed? what if they're closed for the most part? obviously, i'm asking the girls here. thanks for any input.

i just signed a lease with coulter landing; i hope i don't regret it. :scared:
moving in aug 1.

I'm not entirely sure about the shoes, but the first day, picture day, dress your nicest, after that it's business casual. so for guys, it's slacks, button-up or polo shirt, etc.

and then whatever the female equivalent is.

As for Coulter Landing, they look nice on the outside, but i know nothing of them

I was going over the checklist Sharon sent us and I don't recognize the Press Release Form. What is that?

I'm assuming the name board order form is for the name tags, right? Oh, and Sharon just e-mailed the press release form to everyone.

hey guys, do any of you know when tuition is due? i read the email from sharon harrison and she says the bill will be sent after 7/18, but there is a link on the website that states first year tuition is due 7/25. That seems a bit early. Let me know if you guys have any other information.

I would agree with those except biochem. you'll only ever use it as a reference, so if you have a biochem book already.... or the internet, I wouldn't waste the money

I am sure your summer is coming along great. Quick question about the textbooks. The anatomy lectures textbook package comes with an atlas. Would this atlas be sufficient or we need to get the Atlas by Netter? Thank you.

From what I have read, fee bills will be mailed after the 18th of this month. If you do have financial aid, the bursar's office will subtract your tuition and fees from your aid around the 28th then the remainder will be mailed to your refund address. So I am guessing that if you do not have financial aid, you have to pay tuition around the 28th of July. For accurate information, call Ms. sherri Henry or Ms. Mia Myers at (806) 743-3025 in the fianacial aid office. I hope this helps.

You can always buy a separate (and significantly more detailed) atlas after you start gross lab.
the first lab is easy. well, the practicals are actually ridiculously easy and you shouldn't need an additional atlas. but if you want to see decent anatomy pictures/drawings from lots of angles without being present with a cadaver, then you should think about it.

about tuition, always ask the bursar if you have questions. they are much more helpful (and usually much more friendly) than the administrative staff you'll be dealing with.

so this thread sorta died, anyone moved to Amarillo yet?

Moved in about a month ago, but I'm just now back in Amarillo (did some traveling). So far, so good here. Everything has been far cheaper than DFW except gasoline prices -- it seems to be about 30 cents more expensive per gallon.

This might be a redundant question, but... where is everyone getting the book list from/ordering their books from? I know that James distributed the used book list; Is that what everyone is going off of? Thanks.

I used the book list on the bootcamp site
http://www.ttuhsc.edu/sop/current/bootcamp/FallBookList2007FinalP1.pdf

I assume you can order the books online at wherever, but I saw on the bootcamp itinerary that there was a day that we go to the bookstore. Since there are only a few books that I haven't bought from James, I just plan to buy them at the bookstore on the day we go to the bookstore even though there are probably cheaper sources online.

I'm moving August 1st or 2nd probably. Going to try to get there early to return the UHaul the same day. Also, if anyone wants to get rid of furniture they should give me a call before they trash anything. I have ~700 sq. ft. and all my furniture consists of 1 twin bed and 1 desk. :hardy:

Thanks a lot! I don't know how I overlooked that on the page...

This is a strange question, no doubt: When I was scoping out Amarillo in January, I saw a guy driving around with an (approximately) 12" x 6" decal on his back window "Texas Tech HSC School of Pharmacy" with a motor and pestle mixed into the design.

Ever since I got my acceptance letter, I've wanted one. Are these (or something similar) sold during bootcamp whenever incoming students pick up their books from the bookstore rep, or did this person have this made? Thanks.

you get one or two for free in bootcamp, and can buy others for like 5 bucks or something, so you'll just have to wait a little bit longer

You're living in stonegate right? On Bell just south hillside right?

if so, I work at the CVS one street over (coulter) on hillside.

feel free to stop by, I think our fine wines are on sale

i stuck two of those $5 stickers in my pocket in front of the girl selling them (i thought they were free like the others). my very obvious larceny did not phase her at all (i did put them back).

tim, you got that fancy box wine?

do you guys know where there are any laundromats(I don't know what they're called) nearby the school? I asked all the workers at the apartments and none of them knew where I could find one. They all just told me to rent one from them. And at the rate to rent the pair for 2 years, I might as well just buy new ones.

Hi everybody, im sure this has been talked about but i had a question about textbooks.

i bought the immunology and pharmacy calculations book, because i remember someone telling me during my visit to get thsoe books. what other books should i get? Thanks

The thought of it makes me queasy, but when they say we have to dress professional during Bootcamp, do we have to wear a business jacket for all the days of this glorious time?

How about for the White Coat Ceremony? I know we should look at least decent, but a business jacket too? I know this seems like a silly question, but would greatly appreciate any feedback!

can't wear a white coat over the jacket. I'm leaving mine at home. I just plan to dress how the people in the class roster pictures dress. By the way, are the pictures on sunday or monday?

I'm not a boy but I wouldn't even bother with the suit coat. Bootcamp is reall not that professional, nice shirt and tie for the first day for pics and then you can revert to polo and khakis for the rest of it.

what are the pre-reqs required for texas tech.

Hey, dude. Aren't there any machines at your complex?

Do you have a telephone book? This reply may be a little late for you.

Has anyone received their loan checks yet?

...lots o' cash! :meanie:

I hope no one else made the same mistake as I did. I didn't have a chance to go try on the lab jackets before I had to mail in the check for them. Went today just because I was in the neighborhood of Uniforms Unique and tried one on realizing I need a Long, which I thought I had ordered. I called Mr. Schwettmann to check and apparently I ordered a regular 🙁. I'm not sure if the embroidery includes our names, but if it doesn't, I guess my 2 48 Regular jackets will be up for sale 🙂! See everyone on Sunday!

I ordered a 46. I went to a store but they did not have our model. 46 looked right but I am still worried. From what I recall, the form we were given did not have a choice for long. Is that right? See all of you soon.

Did anyone pick up their computer yesterday or today?

If so, what is the logon supposed to be? I tried the password located in the notebook cover with "Administrator logon" but it doesn't work.

What am I doing wrong. The helpdesk is already closed (it's after 7pm).

😕

Your username is the same as your eraider username. Your password is what is written on the sticky note.

The form doesn't specify a long being available... My dress suit size is a 48 long and I just assumed that these lab coats would be "oversized" since Long, Short, and Regular sizes weren't mentioned on it. Oh well. I visited the place that sells them (Uniforms Unique) today, and I purchased a new one in the correct size. Fortunately, they gave me the same discount as we got in the bulk order.👍

That's exactly how it was explained to me too. As far as I can tell, a new account was created on our laptops. This could be set up this way for the network (with the account doubling as a windows domain account)?

I tried my exact eraider user name and nothing works.

Are you sure it isn't the email id or name?

What else could it be?

Hmmm... When you sign into the TTUHSC e-mail account, you sign in as ttuhsc/jsmith (if your name were John Smith), and the way my laptop was configured, the local account username would be jsmith, with the password being what's written on the post-it affixed to the keyboard of the laptop. Either way, I wouldn't panic, by looking at the Amarillo Itinerary it appears the IT Helpdesk has extended hours (after we're done for the day).

Is there any way to set thunderbird(or outlook) to not remove messages from the ttuhsc inbox? Is it because it's an IMAP and not a POP?
