I have heard that I should send thank you letters to my interviewers. Is that true and if so what kind of thank you? Card vs. business style letter? To the individual interviewers or to the admissions committee? Please help.

There are people who will tell you it doesn't make a bit of difference. I disagree, and even if the difference is small, 5 minutes and a stamp are a pretty cheap way to get that little extra oomph.

I wrote a personal, handwritten note to my interviewer on rather formal/professional stationery. I wrote it to my interviewers in care of the school. I know that most schools photocopy these and stick them in your file. Can't hurt, might help!

I agree with Djanaba -- it certainly can't hurt, so why not? At least you won't be wondering, "what if..." When I've been writing mine, I've tried to refer back to some "unique" part of my interview, so it will help them remember who I am. I've also just done handwritten notes on formal stationery. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that was helpful. I appreciate having someone else's opinion.
