I sent one of my interviewer's a letter that went something like this:

Dr. XXXXXXXXX,

I just wanted to thank you for spending the time to interview me this afternoon. I enjoyed our conversation and was genuinely impressed with the University of Cincinnati’s medical facilities.

Thank you again,

XXXXX XXXXX

Too brief, too cheesy or ok?

I think that format is ok, but personally I would try to mention something a bit more specific about the school that impressed you rather than just the generic "medical facilities"

much much much too brief. add some specifics regarding what you liked about the school

It's a little too brief. Add 1 or 2 specifics about the interview or the school. But don't overdo it. This isn't a time for you to write a 2-page additional essay to sell yourself.

it is not like, the thank-you-card message is going to get him accepted 🙄

I love how premeds on SDN tend to see things in zero-sum terms. Rather than thinking about whether a thank you note will get you accepted or not, consider the fact that it's polite to say thank you and that's pretty much the whole story.

God forbid our neuroses prevent us from being well mannered adults.

haha, I am confident that most East-Asians are well-mannered 😛

Looks good to me, man.

You don't need to prattle on, that's immature. Just say thank you.

I wrote almost that exact letter to both my interviewers with an additional sentence at the end that referenced something specific either they or I said. I just wanted to make it seem a smidge personal and purposeful. I'm sure they get plenty of thank you notes and I just didn't want mine to sound exactly like the others. True, there are only so many ways to say "thanks," so that's why I only had one original sentence per note.

send a thank you card that, upon opening the card, plays the music "Thank You" by Dido . that'll get you accepted for sure!!!👍
