Hey,

This is my first post on SDN.

On behalf of the thousands of people who view--and benefit from--these discussions every day, I want to start by saying, "Thank You."

I've been reading for a few months, and I've decided that it's time to get down and dirty and start participating directly. Gradually, over the course of many moons, I look forward to shifting from the role of a question-asker into that of an answer-provider.

Until then, I just wanna thank you guys in advance for your advice, support and occasional deserved harsh comments.

Just do us a favor and join the cool kids group - stay away from the emo [idealistic/ultra srs] posters... You will have much more fun. Not only do they sit in the corner of the cafeteria to post threads, but they also lack e-girlfriends/e-boyfriends that are the captain of the e-cheerleading squad/e-football team.

Your post brightened my day. I love waking up in the morning and thanking a bunch of internet geeks that I will never see in my life, it adds to my character as a person.

Try not too sound so much like a tool in your future posts. Good luck with apps.

Yea its a blast. The cool kids throw the best virtual internet parties with the best booze, and hottest chicks……oh wait I forgot, this is an internet forum, not actual life, my bad - but I guess it is for you mate.

yea well once I have 1,159 posts on the internet, I will get them faster, maybe they will send me a medal that I can hang up in my room, showing off my accomplishments to only myself.

As for posters like Etzio... This is why we can't have nice things. Even a thread like this with nauseatingly nice intentions gets turned into an argument. Dang.

I'll add a thank you to SDN as a whole. This place is a great resource once your learn to identify and disregard the idiocy. As a post-bacc student only briefly in an official program (and thusly, with an advisor, who was decent, don't get me wrong), I am certain my success on the MCAT and my acceptance is due largely in part to what I have learned here.

This is so sweet! This really is a great resource for many of the silent, non posting masses. I was a lurker until very recently, too! Though, I just jumped in with a question without even saying hello! It's because it is all about me me me. 😛

No thats exactly what im not - a steretypical Asian pre med, hence my point was that non-steretypical Asian pre meds get shafted way more than non stereotypical pre meds of other races. Comprehension - look into it.

Im not trying to be funny or clever, and what I said isn't mean either. When the first thread from someone is "Thank you bunch of virtual strangers for helping me with my life" that person has issues, I was just telling the OP to calm down in a non-gentle fashion :meanie:.

Why don't we just drop it? This is pretty pointless.

They're really the worst kind of people I've ever dealt with in my life, and coming from an underserved, gang/crime-ridden community, I stand by that statement. At least the gangs I know of have some sort of respect for each other.
