Thinking the same thing. Sent app. to 30 programs and have already started to regret it. Will choose best 10 among all invites.

UTMB - Austin today.
I went on 7 interviews total and was fried-diablo by the end. It depends on your situation. I know couples matchers that went on 20+, which is out of control.
I would HIGHLY recommend doing a few in the beginning that you will take seriously, but will most likely be lower on your list. I consider my interview skills a strong point and was still surprised at how much clearer I got by the last couple of interviews.
Good luck this year!

that's a good point. but, curious if it matters in terms of how the rank lists are made whether you interviewed in nov. vs. jan. any thoughts?

Yep. What worked for me was (1) persistence and (2) leaving a message with my number.

Phila or da Bronx?
USC today (almost went there for med school too!), but i thought it was a spam email with sender as "Gregory Riva", but nothing for the subject. 😛
people that have gotten USC, are you from the west coast?
oh cool, thanks.
do programs stagger these invites to avoid everyone calling at once? b/c it doesn't seem like they just send out a mass ERAS message to everyone at once.

From my understanding there is a staggering of invites...it just seems that many of us posting here and interviewing at the same schools... 🙂

does anyone know if when you schedule your interview (early vs late in the interview season) affects where you are ranked by programs?
it seems to me like people that interview late in the season would seem fresh in the program director's mind and would more likely to be ranked high if they were liked.
or are people that interview earlier considered more interested/better candidates and placed higher on the rank list?

Honestly, I have no idea. But, it's been talked about a few times on here. In a recent post in the general residency forum, Dr. Cox mentioned that her program assigns a preliminary rank at the time of the interview. She said in this in the context that sometimes things like late Step 2 scores don't affect people much because they are "already ranked" (at least, in a relative sense).does anyone know if when you schedule your interview (early vs late in the interview season) affects where you are ranked by programs?
