Can't see your link..and don't want to! All I could think last night after watching him swim...SDN is going to give me crap tomorrow after admitting that I have a crush on Phelps.

It's a "Nanni-nanni-boo-boo" emoticon 😛

LOCHTE BABY!!!! :woot:

Mark Todd's dressage test was amazing! Soooo glad he came back to compete as these Olympics!

And the US has some ground to make up tomorrow on xc.

Just watched kayaking and now watching Korean archery. I love getting to see sports that are never otherwise on TV or anything. That rain looks miserable. Though I think it's funny to see the kayakers splashing water on themselves before in a run when it's pouring rain.

Off now to find archived dressage from this morning. For some reason, couldn't get that video to play earlier when it was live. 🙁

Bummed that the USA women lost in archery, but they played well.

I had a lot of trouble with the dressage feed this morning, but then managed to watch the last ride (Mark Todd), which was awesome. Maybe it was the amount of people watching?

One of my former rowers (I was his coxswain)/high school prom date came back to win the repechage after getting dead last in their heat. Love a good comeback. Still in it for the medals!

Did you see UCDSVM c/o 2016 Carrie Johnson? That's right, we have a 3 time Olympian in our class 🙂.

Idk. Looking for it on the internetz. Did someone post on the fb page when and where we can watch it on TV?

I think it's the 10th for the heat actually. If you go to NBC live internet streaming and click on canoe/kayak it gives the times for her events.

Ahhh that's really cool!
It was one of the men's whitewater events on today. I really don't know anything about the kayak/canoe events.

Yeah, looks like the 7th for the K-1 500m and the 10th for the 200. I don't think I'll have cable by then 🙁.

Trying to watch swimming finals online but it keeps messing up 🙁 I just want to see hot bodies in speedos. Is that too much to ask?

Water polo. Those guys are wearing next to nothing. 😱 😳

Yeah, but you can't see as much. The swimmers spend a lot more time out of the water, getting ready between events, etc. Water polo players are under water a lot--harder to see.

Correction. I take that back. This is nice to watch. Much better on a real-sized TV than on my phone.

Water Polo is vicious. I don't know if the rules/regulations are different at this level, but my friends who played always told me anything that happens under water is fair game. My one friend had someone grab her boob and twist it and since it happened underwater, no foul.

I don't really get why it's an Olympic event though. It's like soccer meets water. Also I noticed a lot of men getting in and out of the water. They also show a lot of them walking around and sitting on the bench.

They have to tread water the whole time. It takes a lot of athleticism to be a water polo player.

Exactly this.
They were talking about how the pool is London is only 6.5 ft. deep compared to like 12 in Beijing 4 years ago, but still, no one uses the bottom at all, for anything--it's just completely inefficient.
They are comparing it to hockey right now on NBC and talking about the physicality, etc. of the game.

I love the diversity of sports that are included in the Olympics. There are so many things I would never hear about or pay any attention to that I get to watch and learn about.

I have cable at my house in South Davis. You can come over and watch it if you want. Plus I live with 3 other 2016ers so it could be fun 🙂. PM me if you are interested.

Better invite her awesome roommate

Oh I bet it does. I just don't happen to get the point of it in general. But I think it's just a personal preference.

PS. How is it that in the Olympics even fencing is fun to watch?! 😕 😀
I find that somewhat offensive. 😱 I like watching fencing even if it isn't Olympics (I'm a fencer), and in fact, I'm having an Olympics fencing watch party. 🙂

I leave SDN for a few days, and there is already an Olympics thread I missed??? 😛

 Don't be offended. I mostly meant that I wouldn't be cheering, yelling, and high-fiving over fencing on the average day. Though I did notice that the US fencers are quite the celebrators.

You should have seen hubby and I last night when Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings were playing Australia. We high-fived for every point scored. It was so much fun!

Did y'all high five each time michael phelps won a medal too?

Oh wait... That didn't happen. :d

Ahhh, Liss! Way to ruin it for me. I purposely have avoided the news, my phone and did not highlight that section to see anything.

That race is so worth watching. I won't say anything else about it, I promise.
