So I am surprised this thread has not been started yet!! How is everyone feeling about the test?? How are you spending your last week & 1/2? I am retaking from Jan 26th so this is IT! I'm more ready to have it done than nervous...what about everyone else?

Looking at the 4/18 and 4/19 scores makes me want to throw up in my mouth. If I see anything less than a 28 I am going to be super depressed.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

I just had a terrible MCATNIGHTMARE about taking the test, waiting for the test score, and then getting a 26... 10 PS/ 8 VR / 8 BS ......... I never got lower than 10 on BS... and I was ranging from 11 - 14 on the weeks before... I also think I threw up (in real life) when I woke up from seeing that score... ugh... I went from depression the first couple days to optimism the next, and now i am at the confusion stage of this waiting... I think I could have a score anywhere from 24 to 38.

I do have an actual question, aside from my venting, should I apply for another test and then cancel if I do well? What is the downside to doing so? If I don't do that, and I did poorly (and hence, need to retake), will I be able to take it at a reasonable time so I can apply somewhat early (or at least, not late, like august)? Thanks.

i also keep having mcat dreams...the last one i had...my scores added to a decimal....so i was like this is a DREAM...and i was on the brink of having a lucid dream....but then i was fighting to NOT wake up...and when i thought i awoke, i was actually STILL in the dream! if i had realzied that i had fallen alseep in my bed and not on the floor i might have realized my lucid dream...so now im enjoying these mcat dreams as ways into unlocking a lucid dream 😛

my friend just showed me his score report from the jan adminitration....it was a legitmate 13,11,14...38...made me feel a lil better...ppl do actaully get these scores...and hes normal 2...smokes weed n parties w the rest of us..he did get a 1600 on the SAT tho, lol but thats not verified....but i got a higher grade than him in physics

Im not TOO worried, but for some reason in this area where i live the tests fill up really quickly and i didnt want to get stuck taking one post summer.

I had a dream the other night that I scored a 30Q... 10 PS 6 VR 14 BS...and it SUCKED because I was so thrilled about the 30 but so bummed about the 6. And verbal is by far my worst section.

Anyone else at the place where they couldn't even begin to speculate how they did? The whole test day is a blur now....I remember rushing through physical, thinking verbal was better than usual (which probably means it was AWFUL), and being completely RAPED by biology. Everyone says, "if you HAD to guess, what would you say you got..." but I can't even begin to try to pull up any numbers.

guys, i was looking at the 5/23/08 MCAT date responses on how they thought the test went...and it seems that they felt their test was MUCH more straightforward than any of us felt our test was. i am truly starting to believe that friday tests are easier with a less generous curve, and saturday tests are harder with a more generous curve...though people have told me this isn't true.

any thoughts????? I HOPE WE GOT A GENEROUS CURVE for the beast of a test that we had to take.

How about Tuesday tests

Seriously, though, do they re-do the curve for every test date or do they have enough accumulated data that they apply a raw score to a similar curve for all test dates? It seems if they get the scores back in 30 days that they must have a pre-set curve.

If the curve was pre-set it should be more like a two week wait only because of the writing section. Therefore, I don't believe the curve is pre-set.

I had a score release dream last night. It was crazy. I had a dream that on a Sunday night they released our "estimated" scores. Then we could see them changing them to the actual scores. I thought I got a 21 and then ended up with a higher score and by the end, I ended up with around an 8 or 10 total. So confusing and so frustrating!

i had my first mcat score release dream last night. i got 11s on bio and physics and a 14 on verbal. and we could look through the test to see which ones we got wrong. wish we could do that with the real thing.

I really shouldn't be checking these SDN MCAT threads till I get my score! but this speculation is killing me. lordy, gah, I still have like 3 more weeks.

If you're not familiar with the Toronto music scene.... that was a giant accomplishment..... Ticketmaster was without seats about 15-20 seconds after opening the online tickets up..... it's about as competitive as the MCAT is haha

i saw another friend of mines score report from the jan administration...shes a bioengineering major...12,10,14....she said she was on the verge of voiding! she said she thought she BOMBED, yes, BOMBED the bio...and then, ta da, its her best section...so for those of you thinking you bombed, hopefully this will allay some of fears...there is hope!

and another friend of mine said he got an (unverfied by me) 29...9,8,12...he said he guessed entirely on 2 sections in verbal and guesse entirely in on section n bio...still got a 12 and an 8! he said he was disappointed about PS, seeing how that was really the only section he finished. but still, hope, there is hope

😕Can anyone tell me how to find interview quetions that are rumored to be on SDN? I know this is off the 5-10 MCAT subject (I did sit for that exam BTW), but I've attempted to find the section several times and have been unsuccessful. Anyone here know the SDN site well and can help me out?

At the top of the page find the light grey bar with 'articles', 'communities', 'forums', 'databases', etc. on it. Click 'databases' and select 'interview feedback' in the drop-down. Select MD, DO, etc., then pick a school. Interview questions are included in many of the individual reviews.

i took the mcat on the 10th and have avoided thinking about it till just now. now i'm panicking.

There's a lot of that going around. Don't let it get to you. Especially don't let other peoples' posted scores and predictions get to you. Spend time with family and friends. Get some exercise. Do something you enjoy. Concentrate on putting the test out of your mind and spend a 24-hr period ignoring SDN and THx. 🙂

1. Because the MCAT is supposed to wear you down mentally and emotionally. It does more than check factual knowledge-- it forces the test taker to think critically, it creates doubt, it grinds on emotion and concentration. Don't let it get to you. If you were well-prepared and doing well on practice tests you'll do fine on the real thing. If not, you can always retake.

2. Writing samples are graded individually by real, live people and therefore take a long time for grading. Except for that, there's nothing really preventing AAMC from giving immediate score reports like the GRE. I'd rather get my numerical scores on test day and have them mail me my WS letter grade. I'd probably never even open the envelope.

Not to try and embarrass anyone, because I'm not 100% positive myself, but I've noticed that many people are using the word "discreet" in reference to the stand-alone questions. Isn't the correct word "discrete"?

I feel exactly the same way: from 24 to 37. OMG, this wait is killing me. I'm trying to decide which schools to apply but without my scores i have no idea. :S Anyone else with this problem?? When are you guys submitting the applications???

Ah, I hope God is listening to you right now!!! On the practice tests i kept getting from 32s to 35s, and I walked into the testing room hoping for a 36. Left there thinking i got at the most a 27. :'( I really hope it was just a feeling and that i actually did well.

Yes. And when you enter THx there will be no more buttons to click or warnings. Your score will be right there staring at you. (Once it is posted, that is.)

That's awful! You probably won't though.

I took the 5/23 test so I have to wait 13 more days than you guys. But I probably won't be able to help myself but to come check this thread when you guys get your scores, and it'll probably make me all nauseous and super-freaked for 13 days.
