NYT article about the influence American developments in mental illness classification/diagnosis/treatment have had on psychopathology manifestation in other countries and some other musings by the author. Friend forwarded it to me, and I thought it was interesting and well written. Cultural psychology has never been that interesting to me, but it presented some things I hadn't really thought about. I haven't looked into the referenced research articles, but I didn't get the vibe that results were hyperbolized much.
