this weeek i guess...I am getting nervous already ..it was my first time taking the PCAT and hopefully last time 😱...what day we should expect the GIFT :hardy:...i have exams this week but my mind is with the mailing box :scared:

No specific date exists as Pearson sends scores out intermittently after four weeks. You just have the painstaking experiences of constant checkups on your mailbox.😉

I know mine is graded. I figured that much out from going through the "Request transcripts" option at the PCAT site. It shows the 21st as being scored and processed as opposed to showing it in the "send transcripts once testing is complete" list down below that.

pharmcas has not gotten it yet so I figure I am still a little way off. I did okay not thinking about it much but I am getting antsy now that I know I've reached the home stretch waiting for it.

I never had anything in transcripts, only the universities I attended and the dates the transcripts were received.

On the official test tab it states this:

Once your scores are received, the test date(s) will appear below. Your scores will not be visible; only the test date(s) received will be displayed for you.

Now I finally have the date they received it so it's only a matter of time before I receive it in the mail. 😎

guys..how do you see that in you pharmcas application, do i have to pay and submit before i get anything in my pharmcas,,coz i did not pay anything yet ...am getting nervousssssss:scared:

Mine hasn't been received by pharmcas yet, but I'm also not worrying too much about it right now since I'm on vacation for another 5 days 🙂 I'll worry about it when I come back from vacation ><

I am all done with PharmCAS-everything is in. I am just waiting for them to mail my application. I called and asked them why they did not mail it out when it was complete (have no idea about the timeframes) and they said they do not begin the mailings until August. 🙄

Exactly the same here. I checked PharmCAS, not there. I checked PCAT, and it shows graded. I thought about the test for the 1st week, and not again until this past Friday. Hopefully it will arrive sooner than later.

Are you sure it's not the date you took the test?

Looks like FloridaPharm is sure PharmCAS has received the scores:

I think this may be a dumb/obvious question, but when you go and request transcripts on the PCAT site and there's a list of schools to send score reports to, isn't this the same thing as the list of schools you picked when you initially registered for the PCAT? If so, what is the point of doing it again...shouldn't the schools you chose already be getting the scores from your initial PCAT registration?

Yes,.. it was just a way to see where my test was in the process. The only reason to do it (assuming you selected where you wanted the scores to go to initially) would be to see if your test is listed as processed/complete or still in progress.

It shows you that information before you pay for it. I didn't actually pay to send transcripts anywhere. It was just a small little way of seeing whether my test had been graded and processed yet.

I am totally confused. Where am I gonna see the scores? I cannot see it in PCAT web site and Pharmcas.

Are they gonna mail me straight or I have to ask PCAT to send the score to Pharmcas or PCAT will send my scores directly to Pharmcas.

Confused 😕

I hope I did fine...Goddam...this wait is KILLIN ME!!!

Allright FOLKS!!

I just had a conversation with a lady at PCAT. The scores for VA, will not be out until the end of 6 weeks. According to my calendar, it will be released around 5th of Aug, 2008.

So, that means, we still have some time to scream and panic. Enjoy people!!!

Also, the scores will be sent out directly in mail and not reported in any web sites.

Namaste!!

can someone plz answer my question, i am now filling my pharmcas application, but i dont see any thing related to PCAT scores been graded or pending...i did not submit my application and i did not pay pharmcas anything yet...is this right or no ?:scared:

that means they havent received your scores yet. i havent submitted my application yet either, but pharmcas shows that my test has been received.

i just hope i get my scores before the aug 1. cancellation date for the next pcat test date. if i did well enough on the june one i wont take the august one

thanks for the reply man, did you pay them anything yet, what state are you in , when u expect to get the scores ?

Rumor has it that it only takes a few days after your post date to receive the scores...who really knows? That is what PharmCAS told me.

Once PhamCAS receives your scores, it should take around 2-3 days for you to receive it depending on where you live. This is what I have heard about in the past.

guys , anyone who recieve the score...post a new thread,,.waiting game is killing me :hardy:

I'm in the same situation...from what I've heard it takes the full 6 weeks for the majority of people to get their scores, which looks like would be past the Aug. 1 deadline. It seems like they purposely set it up that way to make more money.

I seem to be in the same boat as I have already registered for the August PCAT. Hopefully I will have to cancel it!

My PharmCAS posted they received my June PCAT scores on July 21st. I live in Cali.

Yes I believe that money is the motivation for it. It's always been about money otherwise, there was no reason for Pharmcas and PCAT to be two different entity. Something to think about!!!!

Ok question i understand that when the pcat is graded the essays are time consuming and thats probably the main reason why it takes so long to get you scores back but......c'mon guys its 2008. Im just having a hard time grasping the fact that someone somewhere hasn't come up with a more efficient way of doing things. but then again im just whining because i wanna see my results and i know i know that 4-6 weeks isnt going to kill me...... immediately that is.

From what Ive been told, the essay has no bearing on your score and the essays are only looked at by a few universities. I say make the essays optional so you can get the grades back faster.

Waiting . . . . . . . . . . . . .

sucks.

You will never convince me that they can't do better as far as this grading thing goes. If nothing else they could run your test through a scan-tron as you are leaving the testing center and give you a print out of what percentage you got right in each section or something. That would ease a lot of peoples minds.. or at least let them know they have a real reason to think they did bad on a section or whatnot. I know they always use that "It takes time to hand grade the essay portion." excuse but we all know that the essay means exactly diddly-nothing in the overall grade.

As far as whether or not they do it on purpose....

My opinion has always been if it feels like you are being screwed, looks like your being screwed, and sounds like your getting screwed.. well you are most likely being screwed.

Especially if there is no reasonable explanation for something to work the way it works.

Not every school participates in the PharmCAS system. There is no way Pearson, which was recently bought out Harcourt Assessment, would even consider purchasing PharmCAS until every school participates. Even then, I don't think it would be possible since PharmCAS is part of AACP. I don't exactly think AACP would be willing to give up that revenue stream.

If they were owned by the same company, there could easily be some under the table transactions occurring. This is the main reason the PCAT needs to be a third party. Remember, PharmCAS was created to make it easier to APPLY to multiple schools for the applicant.

The problem with the essays and the 6 week wait is that Pearson pays people to grade their essays. Now, what advantage do they have to get all the essays graded in one or two weeks? None. They would have to employ a lot more people to get this done. I suspect that even though not nearly as many people take the June test as compared to the October test, they do not employ the same number of graders. For instance if the October test has four times as many people take the test, then they have four times as many people hired to grade the essays.

speaking of the volume of test takers when is the best time to take the test with respect to the fact that is mainly based on your percentile. I really hope theres like only 17 ppl that take it in aug lol. if that were the case, with my luck all 17 of the ppl taking it would be smarter than me lol

They should merge PCAT and Pharmcas together. Such a waste of time, money and effort for everyone applying to Phamacy school.

Just wait people...the score is on the way.😳

As much as I am anticipating a good result, the harsh part of it is...what if...and then what will I??? :scared:

Best of luck....👍

I will report what I got once I get it....:scared:

Your percentile score is based off of first time test takers of the PCAT from years past, not those who took it with you on test day. So your percentile is based off the same group of people whether you took it in June or will be taking it in August.

dude i still do not understand how they score the test...and i just talked to pcat person on the phone, she said that NO SCORES WERE MAILED TO ANYONE YET ALL OVER THE US, THEY SCORED THE TEST BUT THEY DID NOT MAIL ANYTHING YET, SHE SAID MAYBE BY NEXT WEEEK..... 😡

No arguments here. The GMAT does this even though the test is completed entirely on a computer. Six weeks seems like a scam to me. Hang in there everyone.

and do you think it's a coincidence people get their scores AFTER the cancellation deadline for the next test?

My heart starts to race everyday at 2 pm when the mail lady comes. 😛 Instead of finding a PCAT Score Report in my mail today, I find a bill for $125 for the August PCAT I signed up for.

Curse Harcourt Assessment and their money-making schemes! 😡

Just checked the PCAT website, looks like the server is down.....lol.from all the traffic. Quick question: How does Pharmcas receive my score, do I have to ask PCAT to send the score to Pharmcas or PCAT will send my scores directly to Pharmcas?????

verbal--61
biology--58
reading--63
quantitative--98
chemistry--99
composite--94

writing--3/3
What to do with bio?? I feel like I cheated the system and got a high score because of chem and math. But I have no confidence getting that high of score again. Any advice?
