FORMER STUDENT COMPETES ON NBC'S "THE BIGGEST LOSER"
XXXXXXXXXX (name obfuscated to protect the innocent), a GSBS graduate in December 2003, is a contestant on the NBC television series "The Biggest Loser."
XXXXXXX, who earned a Master's degree in Clinical Research Management, is currently a medical student at Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine.
"The Biggest Loser" offers participants the opportunity to undergo a radical physical makeover without any kind of surgery. The series is in its second season. Contestants compete for a grand prize of $250,000 in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise. The unscripted one-hour reality series gathers contestants from across the country to face real-life temptations while being provided with approved weight-loss skills and resources in an effort to help them transform their bodies, health -- and ultimately, their lives.
"The Biggest Loser" provides 14 contestants -- who are divided into the red team (women) and the blue team (men) -- challenges, temptations, weigh-ins and eliminations until the final contestant remains to claim the title of "the biggest loser." Each team works out under the supervision of professional trainers Jillian Michaels (red team) and Bob Harper (blue team).
Tune in tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. to watch XXXXXX on NBC 5.
