Geez, my birthday is on the 17th....I hope this is a good birthday present on the 16th!

Isn't father's day on the 17th as well??? Or is that on Saturday or Sunday????

Hey Guju Doc, Father's Day is on the 19th for your info. And by the way, I like the Om symbol as your icon. Nice to know that fellow Hindus are posting. Good luck to everyone on Thursday.

Father's day is Sunday the 19th

Oh, and I've never drank alcohol, any recommendations on what I should do? :O

edit: besides start drinking 😀

Is anyone going to get drunk before checking scores? Like a preemptive measure? If you do well, you'll probably be celebrating with alcohol anyway. And if you do poorly, you'll want to drink away the misery. So drinking beforehand has you covered in 2 out of 3 scenarios. 👍
Haha... my friends and I are planning a bunch of activities to keep us busy so we won't have time to get depressed. Some are planning to do run a 5K to keep their minds off, I am gonna go to the mall, who ever says money can't buy happiness obviously hasn't not gone shopping with me... hehe. Drinking doesn't seem like a bad idea

As it gets closer to the 3 day countdown, I wish you all luck.

Last fall when the MCAT scores came out, the following link was posted on here.

I'm going to post it on here for all of you now:

Click on view presentation. Its just a neat little thing I remember seeing on the thread like this one for the August MCATers.

ME TOO!!!! HAHHAHAHHA i stopped after a few minutes actually, thinking it wasn't going to come

ok so i had some really terrible experiences during the begining of my college experience, i did poorly academically, i hurt my knee really badly, burnt too many bridges and then slowly my luck started getting better to the point where i finished college with a 4.0 during my last sememster, getting a pretty cool job (for the summer), and finding out i got in the smp i really wanted to go (bu, as much for the program as for the fact that i've wanted to live in beantown since i was in high school)... so should i take this as a sign that the mcats are going to go well??? hmmm, better not, i don't wanna jinx myself

crazy cav, it's not a love/hate relationship... i enjoy talking to all of you (most of you, some are way too uptight and condescending for me), but i'd rather our conversation topics be something different like basketball or how much i love hendrix and the mars volta...

nervously nervous

hehehe, ya same here. the whole time, somewhere in the back of my head I was thinking that any time now, this thing is going to say, "And then I asked God, does my MCAT score really matter that much... and God replied, 'My child, you control the test, the test does not control you, and your score is not really a number, but your state of mind, so be serene and tranquil and all will be well.' "

I think they should definitely add that in there.

Wellp, so what sort of nervous behaviour do you all partake in?? I, for one, am known to engorge myself on fatty foods. Just now I was shoveling handfuls of chewy chip's ahoy into my fat, corpulent mouth. As my cheeky jowls jiggle during this gluttonous mastication, I quietly reflect on the foreseeable future, which causes me to eagerly scoop another handful and add it to my bloated gut. Ironically, another activity that I partake in while I'm nervous is long, long walks around my school. Today I did 2 hours, very likely to do many more as we get closer to the day-that-shall-not-be-mentioned. It seems the two might balance each other out, though truth be told these calories add on faster than the walking melts them off 😳

Well, 😍 to all as always.

When I read that, I immediately pictured the fat Siberian hamsters from lab nibbling away at the chemically modified feed we provide them--they're so disgusting, when they get full, they simply chew up the excess feed and store it in pouches lining the sides of their mouth. Eventually the mouth flora begins digesting the food and creating an unholy smell. We then have to depouch them before experiments to get accurate weight measurements, which sucks doubly because the damn rodents bite like a mother******.

Man, I need to quit or get fired soon.

tick tock... tick tock...

I remember the feeling. These next 3 days are when its going to really get BAD. All the insecurity and anxiety is going to start bubbling up to the surface and boiling over. :scared: Just try to relax, if thats at all possible.

At least you guys have SDN to calm you down, I didnt find this place until I was interviewing.

Whenever I read this forum, everyone makes my anxiety rise. 🙁

Everytime I read an MCAT thread I explode. Cleaning up the mess sucks.

though I didn't take the MCAT... I've been following this thread because I'm watching for my younger brother.
I have been appointed "check the score man."
Thanks for the updates and good luck to you all.

I appointed my boyfriend that job. My plan is to keep this site open wednesday and thursday, and when reliable posters get their score, i'll call my boyfriend and he will read them out to me. Way too scared to do it.

Also, this will allow me to somewhat gauge how the curve was before i check my score.

I took the MCAT last year and I understand all your anxieties, April 05 MCATers.... GOOD LUCK! Keep in mind, it's just a number. Your life doesn't end if you don't get the score you want. Believe me!

What????? What's so bad about that link. I just thought I would post it cuz some people had posted it last fall. Its actually really true what they say in that link about life.

Does anyone else feel they're being overconfident about their score? I used to tell myself that I would be disappointed with anything less than 35 and 35-36 would be OK. But lately, I'm starting to question my scale. I think I may be pushing my luck and should be bracing for a 33. Sigh

Hey, I think I'd even be happy with a 29, because it's almost a 30. I'd be ecstatic to get above a 30. I'm just afraid I had a bad day or didn't study the right stuff, and am going to be disappointed on Thursday.

And you guys shouldn't be worrying too much, I'm sure most everyone did fine.

I second that. I would LOVE a 30!!! (or even a 29!)

I think reactions to that link vary widely, depending on one's religious/philosophical proclivities, sense of humor, etc. Some viewers are moved to tears; others are reminded of Jack Handy's Deep Thoughts....

it's soooooooo hot here, this doesn't hell my anxiousness... i'm gonna try to run ten miles, cause i got nothing better to do today...

damn, training for the marathon or something? I don't know too many people that run 10 miles to get something off their mind. 4-6 at most, but 10, I tip my hat off to you.
