so i will be a junior next fall and i will study for the DAT most of the courses are expensive and far from me but my college offer a MCAT course and a lot of people told me it helps them when they apply for medical school but i'm interesting to become a dentist. So i want to ask you guys what is the difference between MCAT and DAT can i take the MCAT course and then take the DAT and does this course will cover most of the DAT materiel ?
Thank you

I agree with @GJMeig..save your money because applying and attending dental school is expensive! With that said, look at the DAT section on this forum and use the breakdowns as a study guide. The MCAT science section is passage-based with a few stand-alone questions. The MCAT also includes physics and an essay section (both of which are not needed for the DAT). Both exams are similar but the application of the concepts do differ quite a bit.

The only thing the MCAT class might help you with is with the Reading Comprehension section because it's kinda similar to the Verbal Reasoning section on the MCAT but that is about it (so really not worth your time or money).

As noted above, the MCAT differs in structure and content. The best use of your money would be put to other study materials that would no doubt be cheaper and more applicable to the DAT.
