Unlike those who have been accepted into dental school thus far and have no pressure or worries, how about being a member of the "I still am awaiting my first acceptance thread"? We are still on edge, still feeling the pressure, and are still going to our mail boxes every day anxiously awaiting our first acceptance!
 
Dang, jb!...what gives? Your stats look great. Did you apply really late or something?

Add me into limbo-land too. Had 2 interviews already & waitlisted at both of them, eventhough the interviews went very well. I have two rejections, & 4 under reviews, so here's to hoping, makes a toast, there's hope for us, & rest assured, you're not alone in this.
 
There is strength in numbers. Don't give up hope. And keep the faith.

no, applied june 6th. i have a couple blemishes on my transcript despite my 3.6 gpa.....maybe that's the reason?

hopefully i can charm maryland! 🙂

i'll join the club.... Although i'd rather be a member of the "accepted to" club.. This waiting is the most painful part of the whole process...

I interviewed Back in November I still haven't anything from Michigan! IM DYING!!!
 
lol count me in too, i've decided instead of going with the just be yourself approach at my next interview, i'll use a different approach... begging 🙂

How about the try being someone else approach?? I sugguest going with someone who has a few acceptances.. lol.. I think thats my game plan for the next one..

i'm not in limbo in the sense that i'm eagerly awaiting a decision, but i'm waiting anyway. for some reason it hasn't clicked that it's probably not going to happen this cycle. i still have 4 schools to hear from... i'd consider more interviews, let alone an acceptance, to be a victory. cause then at least you'll have that experience for interviews next cycle.
 
Hang in there guys...it'll happen. I didn't think I had a chance in hell to be accepted either..I went on 5 pre-dec 1st interviews and got immediately waitlisted at the first 4...i had basically told myself the last one was another waitlist..but low and behold..i was accepted. This is why schools interview and accept well into the winter and spring months. Just do what I was doing, keep your mind busy with other stuff or you will make yourself absolutely insane. Focus on your studies, work, or go to the gym and by the time your acceptance rolls around you'll be smart, rich, and buff.....keep the faith!!

:scared: I should have joined SDN a long time ago-- it's like therapy. I applied late and didn't complete my apps (LORs and all) until Dec 5-- Needless to say, I'm still in application status limbo with a lot of schools (mostly in the East Coast)... Interviewed @ Arizona Jan 8th-- but the odds are discouraging... They said they're planning on 400 interviews for 60 spots and that they've already given away about 40 something offers 🙁 Just terrified at this point as to whether I'll get in to dental school this year or not... I'm glad I'm not alone (don't get me wrong-- I still feel bad for those feeling the way I do...)
 
Count me in too. 2 Interviews, no word from either. But no rejections yet at least. Really hoping for a decision at the end of this month from UNC!

Personally I prefer the more subtle "you are the one who needs me, but I want you anyway," approach. 😉
 
Count me in as well too...I have had 3 interviews...and 3 waitlists...oh how I hate this waiting...and to make it worse is when it seems like everyone asks "oh! hows your dental application process going? Oh, when do you hear back from the schools?" ah!! I feel like i should walk around campus with a big sign around my neck saying "I HAVE BEEN WAITLISTED, thanks for asking though" 🙄 🙂

Or how about the good ol' "offer you cant refuse" approach... Worked in the Godfather.. you better believe johnny fontaine got that part...
 
Last year I was on the wait list for 3 schools. I think the reason I began to like SDN so much is that you can check it and there will actually be something to look at as opposed to AADSAS and the schools' websites. Up until yesterday all I had going for me was another waitlist at NYU, but then I found out I was in at Case which was what I really wanted anyway. Waiting sucks, but miracles do happen, even if it's the next year.

I agree that SDN does give you something to keep you occupied, instead of having to deal with (like the previous poster mentioned) how's your applications going? any good news?? We can join threads like this and sulk together and make jokes about it... at least we all understand the position each other is in...

I had an interview at ASDOH and am praying for an acceptance there, it is my first choice, even if I get in somewhere else.

I've been rejected by Nebraska and NYU...low undergrad GPA but very good grad GPA and average (for accepted students) DAT.

All of you are right though, the not knowing is the hardest thing of all. I'd almost rather just get a rejection if they already know they don't want me, then I can get on with my life or start preparing for reapplication.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME Amsie, I'm still on waiting lists, had 2 rejections & NO ACCEPTANCES as of yet, nice try mocking me, with the head-banging thing, LOL, but I think I should be the one to bang & CONTINUE banging my head against the wall, as I've been doing for the past two years, just to get ONE acceptance, heh & by the way, I'm sure myself and many of the others in this thread would rather your position that limbo-land, but kudos to ya on those 3 acceptances ::sighs::

Still waiiiiitttiiiiinnnnggg..... You know, this is no way to live. I check my email more times than I'd like to admit... I'm always tearing through the snail mail... waiting for the phone to ring--- This is the most pathetic I've ever imagined myself to be. At this point, I'm beginning to welcome the thought of rejection letters-- just so I can cry and move on. This whole purgatory thing blows 🙁 Ugh.
 
Count me in!! I interviewed at Michigan in November and I havent heard a single word yet from them. I have 2 schools under review and 1 just being lazy and not telling me anything
IM DYING I WANNA GO TO MICHIGAN!
