depends on your stats. if you have lower stats, 12 might be a good idea. it will be expensive, but hopefully worth it in the end.

12 seems to be more normal now-a-days. I'd say 7 or 8 is the average

I applied to 14 and got accepted into 1. You never know how one school will evaluate your app vs another. Putting all your eggs in one basket is worse than spreading yourself too thin. Evaulate each school's statistics and choose wisely.

For me, it was applied to 19 and got into 1 😀

i'd say 8-10 is average. 4-5 if you're confident. 11+ if you have weaker stats. but remember to apply early.

12 is not too many at all. i applied to 6 but i gambled. by the way, how does one spread one's self too thin? not sure i get that.... 😀
