...Well, it's 12:05 AM and my deadlifts still suck. That's it for me tonight. P.S. If anybody here has a good cure for weak hands, please let me know.

I pretty much passed out after I posted that and woke up sick:(

Too much flying back and forth and interviewing.

Hey, did I mention to this thread that I officially got into med school a couple of weeks ago? :D

Hello beautiful babies!!!

Pitt....I am sick this weekend, and I didn't even KNOW it was daylight savings until I saw it posted on someone's gchat status:( All of my clocks reset automatically, so I somehow feel like I got cheated out of my free hour!

And thank you ALL for the congrats!:) It does feel great knowing I will never have to apply to medical school again. I had really prepared myself for doing this twice. And while I don't regret that mindset because it kept me on my toes....it is nice to know I did it once and did it right the first time:) I'm still waiting to hear from 7 other schools, so of course I have no idea where I'll be next year yet....but at least I know it will be somewhere!!

You know, I am getting rather attached to our little group here. :p

Hope you feel better soon, Cougar.

The only good thing about the time change is that there is a little more time to exercise outside before it gets dark. Though most of the time I get home from work so late I have to exercise after nightfall, anyway.

It is kinda psychological. You dont really feel a difference unless you wind back an actual clock.

For sure, addo.

And yeah, Pitt....most of the time my life exists in the dark. I go to work/the gym when its dark and don't get home until it is dark again. I can't wait to quit a couple of my obligations next month.

Do any of you watch Bones? Did those of you who watched Bones replace your toothbrush this week?;)

I am! But why are you eating ham for thanksgiving? Turkey is where it's at :)

Also, just got back from EMT-B clinicals at my local Emergency Department, which was very interesting. Now time to sleep. Hope you all are well!

I've always liked ham better than turkey, I still eat a fair share of turkey too but I simply devour the ham!

I'm going to Disneyland on Turkey Day....so I can't wait:)

What do you do on Turkey Day at Disneyland? Do they have a big meal served there?

Sounds good to me. :) As I have gotten older, I seem to like turkey less and less. I'd go for ham, too. Especially one of those fancy Honeybaked hams. Easier to cook, too, I believe.

As horrible as it sounds, I hope something more exciting than 102 fever comes through the ER door soon or I'm gonna fall sleep!

I've actually never been on Turkey Day before. I think my friend and I are going for a bit, then going to her parents' house for dinner, then maybe going back to the park afterward. I have a season pass so I go a lot:) I was there on Easter and it wasn't really anything special. Just a normal day at the park.

We just renewed our season pass again, freaking parking went from $40 to $99! that was killer!

I'm not really excited for the food (except pumpkin pie). I'm excited to see my siblings though. I haven't seen the one I see regularly in 6 weeks, the other I haven't seen since August.

At least the ER is busy normally.... 12 hrs in front of a tele monitor. The most exciting thing that happens to me is noticing a freaking PVC or the occasional asymptomatic afib. Looking forward to doing my rhythm interpretations because it gives me something to do twice a night is just sad lol

I'm having one of those days where I am doubting everything.

One of my upstairs neighbors is blasting "Poker Face".

All I want to do is sleep for a week....but somehow I am on call every other day for the next two weeks.

When will this premed crap be over.

When will green stuff stop coming out of my nose.

Oh well that's understandable. I actually don't like turkey much myself-I'm really in it for the mashed potatoes and gravy.

I'm soooo sorry. That must be terrible. Lady Gaga is just awful. Awful combined with sad. I can't even describe my disdain for her.

But congrats on your acceptance!

I just feel like ranting/raving: feel free to ignore.

This is officially such a weird phase of my life. Some night, I completely forget I'm applying to med schools, stay up late goofing around on youtube or something and having a nice, relaxing time. Then, there are the far more frequent nights where I'm up till 3am worrying and researching this and that. I have no idea how so many of us do this every year. Every time my email makes it little blip sound signifying that Ive got mail, my heart skips a beat. And, without fail it seems, it's Borders sending me some coupons :p

My health has completely gone down the drain. Looking at my 3rd extensive knee surgery in December. Developed an ulcer from NSAIDs taking for said knee problem. Orthopedist I went to out here doesn't know my history and is more concerned with the chondrial defect from my first surgery than helping me with the pain. Kinda sad that I know more about the anatomy of my knee than he does (literally, I told him I had a total lateral dislocation of tibia/femur and he was like "you mean your patella.." "No. I actually had the femur slip off of the tibia laterally (think twisting motion) By some small grace, ACL and PCL were only partially torn and didn't need fixation but the cartilage was destoryed, the underside of my patella looked like an octopus, LCL was torn and there was bits of debris floating around. The patella dislocation was later and a second surgery for a lateral release and medial shortening....(continue on for a few minutes explaining the surgeries and that the cyst in my femur is completely benign and been there since I was 6..)." He looked at me and finally realized I actually knew what I was talking about. Not just another patient confusing lateral dislocation with subluxation of patella.

I'll just think back to the happier times. Remember how easy it was to apply to undergrad? 5 schools to apply to, auto acceptence to my state school. Accepted at 2 more (3/5 total).

I miss high school. I dunno why I feel like ranting so much.

Now, I'm going to watch mythbusters and try to sleep so I can get up to TA in the morning.
