It is still hard to study there, because people go there and chit chat instead of studying and then tell you to be quiet when you ask your friend about a problem set or something.

That stuff is the worst. I got so sick of dealing with people like that, my friends and I figured out how to game the system and be able to check out study rooms for 12 hours straight (normally limited to a 3 hour checkout for the study room key).

Nice. There's only one 'designated quiet study area' at the UMDNJ library, I frequently deal with people sitting under the 'designated quiet study area' sign showing each other youtube videos or talking about the weekend. Nothing on earth bothers me like this

Does one person from your group reserve the same study room in succession? That's how it worked in my study lounge (my school actually had a separate study/ computer lab from the library that was open til 3am regularly and 24 hours during finals).

Well it was on a checkout system at my school, you'd check the key for the room out as if it was a book. But other than semantics, that's basically how it worked 🙂 Too many people just check out a study room to socialize with their buddies or whatever, so I didn't feel guilty at all for hogging up study rooms.

Sad thing is that she represents the demographic that was doing all the talking.
 
What's this fascination with studying in the library? I haven't once studied once in there during all four years of undergraduate. I use my dorm- a little starbucks, a little trance, and /whoosh.

I just stopped studying in the library. Even when it was quiet I concentrated better in my dorm than anywhere else.

I am down here in the University area, but I went to high school in the North Valley, orale!

Yeah dude applying this cycle - hence the MCAT in 9 days, hence not sleeping at 2am. I'm doing research on north campus, pretty low key so I have flexibility to do what I need to do (volunteering etc). I'm pretty much hanging around with med students/profs/people on the adcom, which is obviously useful. Taking classes on central campus couple times a week, so it's all good. Love it here, although I thought it was going to be hot year round haha

Nah, are seasons are like schizo out here.

Since I work up on north campus too, I wouldn't be surprised if we know some of the same people.

Basically. We have a tiny block that's 2.5 wks long and then I'm done. Then 2 months of step 1 study-->step 1 on 6/20-->M3 about a week later.

These things go so fast, it doesn't feel like I've been here for two years already.

That sounds like a good thing to me, no? I'm ready to start. I've been so bored the past few weeks with no structure or real obligations. I'm trying not to complain, as I know I'll miss the free time.

Yeah, definitely a good thing. I've had a more enjoyable time in m1-2 then I was expecting to.

so i just caught a mistake on an upcoming flight i have... the return date was off by a week... IT COST ME $250 to correct that mistake 😡😡😡😡

c'est le vie, i guess... the frustrating part is when i booked the flight i only searched for durations of 3 weeks, and to find that this was booked for 2 weeks is really puzzling. grrr
