Be careful for the next few days since sometimes these things get worse a day or two later. A few years ago I smacked my head really hard on the car as I was leaning in to get something out of the car. I was okay until about 30 hours later when I got a headache and earache that lasted for days. My PCP wouldn't see me in his office and made me go to the ED where they did a neuro exam and said since I wasn't on blood thinners and had no LOC they didn't need to do any tests. I really believe I had a concussion because for about a week I just felt a little "fuzzy" mentally.

Thanks for the heads up Helen Wheels! I have been trying to take it easy. I couldn't focus very well and was light headed right after the incident but am fine now.

Not partying lol. My roomie was the one with all the hook-ups for parties and he has gone back home to Mexico. Other than that I have been working in my lab and enjoying my time off before my summer class starts.

Which is exactly what's happened to me.:cry:

Don't worry! The acting in the first 5 eps is so terrible, you'll want to rip out every sensory modality.

Just don't go beyond that, or you'll be hooked. And possibly interested in motorcycles.

already am.... apparently for the pretense that they are practical, which they are not.... so ill just black list sons of anarchy

So, hello, Late Nighters, I slept from 3 PM- 10 PM today and will now likely be up most of the night even though I have to go to work tomorrow. :d

Ha ha that's right! Well at least we're both going to a school in PA so were sort of classmates in a way? :laugh:

And I'm glad to see someone else who has similiar sleeping patterns. It will be fun trying to get up at 7 tomorrow morning.

Looking ahead to school, my first semester basically I have to be there to start at 8 AM every day. Factoring in my one hour commute and leaving a buffer for parking, traffic, etc., I will have to leave my house every day by 6:30 AM meaning I will need to set my alarm for 5:30 AM. 😱

Should I be trying to get my sleep cycle fixed before school starts? Absolutely. Am I actually doing this? Nope. 😳

Exactly. 👍 We'll eventually get back on the right sleep cycle (I hope). :laugh:
 
So, I am having a lipid panel drawn tomorrow and I just went in the kitchen and put food in my mouth without thinking. I won't actually have the blood drawn until about 11 AM tomorrow so I figure 9 hours is okay. In researching this on the Net I am seeing that for lipid panels you are supposed to fast for 12-14 hours. Who actually does that? 😛

Funny story about these labs. My wonderful health insurance which refused to pay for the Hep B vaccine contacted my PCP and said they wanted these labs drawn. Yeah, so they don't care if I get hepatitis and need a liver transplant but by golly, check her cholesterol right away! :laugh:
 
Well, because I am OCD I rescheduled the lab appt on their online system for 2 PM tomorrow. I guess I better do this right and fast for exactly 12 hours. :poke:
 
Does your spouse ever distract you from your studies/applications/other important agenda.

I think I have been set back somewhat because of mine 😛

I have conveniently solved this problem, kautionwirez. I don't have an SO. Sometimes it gets lonely but I also realize it puts me in a great position to start med school with no distractions.

I know people, though, who have spouses who are not in this field and don't understand why they need to spend so much time on medicine. It can certainly be a source of conflict.

I think if I ever did find someone to marry it might be better if he were a physician, too, so at least he would understand the situation better. Though I know everyone on SDN feels you shouldn't have a SO in medicine.
