Oh so you are a tough father too huh? For me to get that upset, is only when my parents wouldn't get me some candy when we went out. I can sympathize with your son. How cruel could parents be to make their kids pose in unnecessary locations, when the least they could do is compensate us in candy??!?? :D

my son always has smart answers to all the questions
One day , he was eating a lot of candies stored in one of the containers in our apartment
we were not aware of it, when my wife noticed that, she shouted at him -" "how many candies are you eating"
and he came out with a very cool answer-" just count the garbage wraps on the table"-don't bother me

Ohhhhh!!! Very smart indeed. lol!! Got any others?

With all those pictures of Canada, now I feel like planning a trip there. I've never been past the Niagara falls :p

Sunny takes a bow, ty rxgal8.

There is soo much to see here in Canada, other than the falls. I haven't even visited this country as much as I should have. My ideal trip would be to go out to the east (Newfoundland) and go whale watching, or the west (British Columbia) and go hiking. I'd also want to go waay up into the Arctic Circle, and just walk throught the snow. Snow is grrreat!

Yep, I'll be done my BSc this summer (I dunno where to write my thesis yet, either here or go international, something new at my uni they just introduced... so I'm considering Hong Kong/Austrlaia/Singapore).

Thesis? Are you planning on getting a masters or phd? Australia is beautiful, breath-taking. Love that place.

^ The thesis I am referrring to is to get an Honours BSc. At our uni we must write a thesis (unlike everywhere else, which totally stinks). I've decided to do it in the field of icthyology (fish) or herpetology (reptiles & amphibians), and those three places that I mentioned were the ideal locations. I have to make my decision quick though, cause I would have to leave in May, then be back by August to write and defend the whole thing. But the reason why I'm hesitating, is because I applied to Ireland, for med school, and they might be holding interviews (not that I even knwo if I'm getting one) between April and June. I'm thinking about calling them up, to see what my application status is, in order to finalize eveyrthing. Anyways....

Oh wow...I've never heard of that kind of program. But yah that's a tough decision to make. Too bad you can't do it in Ireland, I doubt you'll find different variations of fish or any reptiles there.
Australia has the coral reef of course with plenty of fish and more than enough reptiles in the outback. It would be a great experience. If you get your interview (fingers crossed), you might have to fly to Ireland from where ever you choose to go.
But definitely give the Ireland school a call to check on your status. Goodluck :luck:

Anyone ever been to one of the Iskcon temples before? What do you all think about "them"? Over here in Canada, they have been labelled as a cult (a few documentaries were done one them, and the physical/sexual abuse done on the children at their various temples). I did read the book, "Monkey on a Stick: Murder, Madness and the Hari Krishnas" by John Hubner and Lindsey Gruson (back in highschool). I was very shocked when I read this book and saw the documentaries, because it showed that they weren't just about devoting their lives to Krishna... and why aren't there alot of desis in this Iskcon? In Toronto, there are only a handful of desis that where the saffron robes, but the majority of the audience is brown. Anyways.....

Yeah, in India. Really nice temple.
About the sexual abuse thing, it happens in every religion!
About ISCKON being targeted, a lot of people who got involved were little
"abnormal" to begin with.

Henry Ford's (Yes Ford Motor Company) grand son /great grandson is a Hindu, his wife is a Bengali and daughter's name is Amrita.
He is a strong supporter of ISCKON. Opened one in Russia recently.

I realize that sexual abusse occurs in all religions (if not most), but I was just shocked to see it happening under the cover of ISKCON. It really gave Krishna devotees a bad name (here in Toronto). But most of the stuff that occurred, happened after the founder A.C. Bhaktivedenta Swami passed away in the early 70s. Whenever we went to the temple in Toronto, I asked my parents why were there so many white people involved, compared to brown peopel. They said, most of the people that join are homeless, and come in for a warm place to stay and some good food to eat. As for being abnormal, the people in the 70s did have an agenda to push (drugs, arms), which made them definitely abnormal. Anyways... for some reason, I feel at peace going to those temples, I just hate it when they pester you for donations, even after you gave something.

Sooo, I just found out that I kicked some major gadha (or ass if you like) in my fish bio presentation. The prof said I set the standard for the rest of the class. I maintained a pleasant mood during the hwole thing, but the one thing that I was freaking out about was my time limit. We were only allowed 10min max (8min for talking, 2min for questioning). My average time during my practise runs were about 11.5minutes, but somehow I managed to get through it all. I know this isn't as good a news as getting into med shcool, but it'll do for now. :D

hey nice job, Sunny man. :D

You really kicked gadhaa

Good luck with all your academic endeavors!

Just make sure you don't throw the powder at a cop, then you'd be going away for good :D . I've never played it in my life. Although, I think some of the desi kids at my uni might try and organize something when the weather gets a bit warmer.

um..okay this may seem like a dumb question considering i'm desi and all.. but what's the significance of holi? i've never taken part in it..

why I call him georgie -boy???
well, Just look at his avtar
tina, did you watch "seinfied"????, that famous sitcom of the 90s
I am also a big fan of seinfield like sunny
sunny's avtar is "george costanza" the famous short ,bald guy in that sitcom
that is the reason I call him georgie boy

I've seen a couple of shows...but not a fan...so i didn't catch it
Isn't it kinda old?...i don't know... I'm not a tv person anyways...I'm not even a pc person...though i hav been lately due to all the college work...But I like to "hang" with my frnds...outdoor fun...plus too many extra curriculars...no time for Tv except a few shows i religiously watch (that i'd never admit to watching!)...and seinfeld isn't one of them...

Now I wouldn't call myself perfect by any means Tina. I try not to be an extremist in my conduct because I don't find it necessary. The "Middle of the Road" approach has always served me best. I try and stay politically correct. Sure, some people may say that this kind of perspective is BORING, but you know what, profound thoughts come from the calmest of people (not the most lunatic :p ). By held together, do you mean that I don't lose my cool :D ? Sure I get angry as the next person, but getting angry only uses up unnecessary glucose in your liver and you initate the onset of some sort of peptic ulcer. If one shows respect to others from the beginning, and keeps showing it, then you will most likely recieve it back. There are a lot of people in this world that become hot headed for no reason, which unfortunately can lead to undesirable circumstances. I am no yogi, but I do practise yoga (not yoga for the abs  ) everyday, which may be attributed to my demeanor.

And Ms. Para, my parents are just like Georgie's parents. Fighting over the dumbest things, then after 15 seconds of Georgie's intervention, everything is ok :D . Weird huh?

hey guys, some guy asked this same question in the pre-allo forum- do any of you guys have facebook?
