We had a RT kick-off meeting at Dentisthusband's house today. There were 7 foreign trained dentists present, including our lovely Meggs, and another one teleconferencing in from southern California. It was a brain storm session on how to convince CDB to have more RT examinees per year, and to conduct the RT exam in a better way.

One excuse CDB uses to justify not having more RT exams is limited resources. Currently CDB relies on volunteer examiners to grade the exam. They have not added any more manpower to handle the large number of RT applicants. The results, as we have all suffered, are delays and chaos.

We will like to propose an increase in the exam fees - to make CDB an offer (within reasons) they can not refuse. A number even as high as 10% of the cost of going to IDP school has been proposed by one member. As outrageously high as it may seem, it is actually not a bad gauge to measure the opportunity lost. While we don't have to go so high we need a consensus in order to negotiate with CDB.

as much as necessary with in limits

Thanks Tengu for the compliment, although I'm sure not many people will define me as "lovely", 🙂
Anyways, talking about the topic. Hey those people interested in this topic you need to go out and recruit all the people you know how are interested in the bench and get them to join SDN.
First, becuase the more you are pursuing the changes the more likely they are to occur. Second, becuase I'm sure you'll rather pay 5K and not having to go back to school again, and spend your Halloween studying the hydroxyapatite formula again (and such and such).

So regardless of anything just bring people together to agree on stuff before you take to the CA board meetings. And of course, the more of you who are taxpayers the better. 🙂

as much as necessary within reasonable limits.

Hello Guys,
I have a quick Q - So this RT bench exam is only for the people who passed both part 1 & 2 within 2003dec. Is that correct? 😳
