Just found out after sending MSU an assertive inquiry into my status that the "cryptic" email sent out two weeks ago was infact a waitlist notification. The admission chair did say, however, that they only notified those ranking highly on their waitlist. In my opinion they could have been more direct about this. Now whether to take one of my existing offers or wait... Good luck to ya'll in the same position.

Last year they called the day they made decisions and the day after which would have been wednesday and thursday. The official letter follows. But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that they didn't finish yet.

Just received a call from Nick Papouchis, notifying me of my acceptance 🙂

I only applied to City and LIU and was absolutely sure I didn't get in to either. I am so excited and grateful and am truly feeling for those who slipped through the cracks this year.

As a student at Pepperdine, maybe you could answer this for me: I spoke to a former student of the PsyD program, and she said that one thing that surprised her was that about half of the incoming class came out of the MA program there. Is that accurate? Is there a divide between students that are accepted from the MA program and students that aren't?

I've heard similar things, but I think it is just a result of the fact that Pepperdine is one of the only schools in the area that requires a master's and they happen to have one of maybe three general psychology master's in the area as well. From what I can tell with the Psy.D. students I've met so far, their class seems to be pretty united and there doesn't seem to be much of a divide, but I would assume that some people go in knowing others while others are brand new to the area. The M.A. program is also pretty large so there is a good chance that many people within the same program would not even know each other.

Thank you for the good joo-joo's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I hear before the end of the day, but I am not counting on it. The last 24 hours have been a learning experience for me. I hope we will be classmates in Fall and I hope I sleep a little better tonight than I did last night.

I also received a waitlist notice from Auburn. If the person who received an acceptance could contact me, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to discover if I need to make other plans or keep waiting. Thanks!!

Accepted at Fordham School Psych via email.

I have not heard from Spalding either, but I recall hearing at the interview day that we'd hear the third week of March. So next week if we are lucky enough to receive an invite.

I saw on this thread that someone has recieved an acceptance via mass email Pacific on March 12th (today). Does anyone know if they send out all the acceptances at once? Is it possible that its a multiple day process and I just haven't heard yet? Anybody else heard from Pacific? Thanks all!

I received an acceptance as well. Considering they are offering to such a large number of people (2X the # they want in the cohort), I wouldn't be shocked if all the offers have not been sent out yet. Good luck, I hope you get in!
 
I also received an e-mail acceptance from Pacific University this morning. I don't know how they handle their admissions, but you might check last year's thread and see if anyone reported acceptances over multiple days.

Hi,
I just wanted to say Congrats to everyone accepted. I also wanted to say those still waiting or who have been rejected don't feel too bad there is always next year.

Also,
a certain school has been sending out invites and waitlists for the past two weeks. I have not been contacted. However, I contacted the admissions department and they said no decision has been rendered on my file but I'd know within the week. Do you think this is a bad thing or just that for some reason they haven't gotten to me yet?
 
I can't seem to find last year's thread, it must have been removed. If not and anyone has a link I would be grateful if they could post it. Are you saying they're sending out acceptances for 2x the people they expect to actually enroll or are you just saying that its a large group of incoming students comparatively? Thanks.
 
Sorry I thought of one more question: did you two interview on Friday or Saturday? I wonder if that makes a difference in the acceptance rate.
 
Still no word anyone from U Mass Boston? I havent found one person who even knows of anyone getting notified....

Are a lot of other people still waiting to hear from Denver?

My friend who got accepted to Denver last night interviewed with the same professor I did. Part of me is thinking that means I didn't get it? Anyone have experience interviewing at Denver in the past? Perhaps the same prof might call people over multiple days?

Anyone have any words of wisdom or experience in a similar situation?

Either way, this is no fun.

Wow, that amounts to lying to me when I asked them directly... that's a pretty awesome thing for a program to do.

Well I suppose it is the former. They said they usually aim to have a cohort of 50. If you couple that with the fact that they have usually accepted roughly 100 people a year over the last couple of years, that is about 2X. Judging by previous acceptance numbers across several schools, I think that is a pretty common formula for Psy.D. programs that take sizable classes. Oh and I interviewed on Friday.
 
Would the other person who got the acceptance to CWRU pm me with POI/track? Also, has anyone heard back post-interview who hasn't be accepted...? I haven't heard anything yet! AHHH!

Hey there psychee! I am also waiting to hear from Fuller. I had emailed them two weeks ago and was told that around mid March those accepted will receive a phone call, and those denied will receive a letter. As of Monday, I am going to be glued to the phone :scared:

Yeah, that's what they said. But I was checking last years forums and it looks like they said the same thing last year and called people when they were ready. I guess it's just their way of stopping people from calling them all the time.
 
I got a phone call this afternoon from University of Denver (Clinical Psy.D.) to let me know I've been accepted!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the good news on its way to everyone still waiting to hear. :xf::luck::xf:

So does Pacific even have a waitlist or do they just send out mass admission letters with the assumption that half or so will turn it down?
 
Has anyone received LIU waitlists? I've been anxiously waiting for the phone to ring and have heard nothing. 🙁

Actually, some guy from D.C. called to tell me he was doing a research project on graduate schools and applicants. I was so disappointed I couldn't even bring myself to answer his questions.

Anyway, LIU... any word? any lurkers?
 
I was accepted to Pacific University's PsyD program!!!

I'm currently a student in the terminal master's program at Pacific. If anybody else is going there in the fall, feel free to PM me!

As far as I can tell, 2 people on here received acceptances, one last wednesday and one friday by phone call. Another person or it could have been one of the same received a phone call acceptance on friday and one person received a rejection by snail mail on friday. Good luck. I'm hanging in there as well.
