I can't say how true this is. I also went to the masters at tc, under the auspices that they say that they accept students from the masters into the phd program. the masters was about 80 people, so, you can do the math. this year, of the people i was friends with, only 1 got an interview, and no one got in. beyond that, it is essentially a fabulous way for the school to make money. i couldn't urge anyone enough not to go through the program. wow. all the students were pretty convinced it was a nice way to help pay for the doctoral students. sorry if that was just venting, hopefully it helps people decide when tc offers the carrot of their masters program.
