the new and improved 2010 Acceptance and Waitlist Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So I have some questions for people out there, hopefully some of you have answers about these clinical programs...

I just found out a couple of days ago that I was waitlisted at Wash. State. Has anyone been accepted there and thinking of not going?

Also, it says on the thread at the start that U. Missouri Kansas City has sent out acceptances? I have had an interview there, it definitely went well, and was supposed to have news friday before last. All I have received is an email saying that they are still working on it. So has anyone actually received an acceptance there yet? If so, how?

Also, does anyone know how Alliant (California School of Professional Psychology) notifies? If they even ask for interviews?

If anyone has any news on any of these programs it would be amazing--I'm going out of my mind with anxiety (as I'm sure most of you are). Thanks so much!!

Accepted to Hofstra (clinical PhD) via phone call this afternoon!! 🙂

At least it's one!!!

Hi Jenn1015, CONGRATS!!! 👍 Did you get the impression that they had just started making calls (since you are the first person I've heard that has heard back)? I am still waiting to hear from them post-interview.

I have no idea 🙁
Sorry I can't be more helpful- I know how crazy all the waiting makes you, I'm still losing my mind haha

It seems weird to me that no one has heard (or said that they have heard) from St. Johns or UConn yet. Doesn't it seem late?

Wow this process really never ends. I remember last year I was on the waitlist at one place until MAY! But hold out guys- I have a lot of faith in all of your individual awesomness. GO TEAM!

Is anyone considering going to Ferkauf? If so, PM me so we can discuss!

I am in the same boat - interviewed 2/27 - thought it went really well and have yet to hear.. maybe just maybe tomorrow those phones will be ringing??

Has anyone received LIU waitlists? I've been anxiously waiting for the phone to ring and have heard nothing. 🙁

Actually, some guy from D.C. called to tell me he was doing a research project on graduate schools and applicants. I was so disappointed I couldn't even bring myself to answer his questions.

Anyway, LIU... any word? any lurkers?

Congratulations! Do you mind sharing when you interviewed? you can pm if you prefer.
thanks!

Re: LIU Brooklyn Clinical PhD

Just received a call from Nick Papouchis, notifying me of my acceptance 🙂

I only applied to City and LIU and was absolutely sure I didn't get in to either. I am so excited and grateful and am truly feeling for those who slipped through the cracks this year.

Good luck to everyone.

I don't think it's TOO late yet. I think a lot of schools will let people know in the last week of March before Spring breaks, even if they have already started notifying people. I don't think they HAVE to let you know until April 1st and you dont have to let them know until April 15th. Good luck!

i got a phone call for an interview with alliant a few wks ago and am fighting them now to get a phone interview (i was denied at first and i have submitted a more formal request to the board).

I still haven't heard back from Ferkauf. I called admissions last Thursday and they said no decision has been rendered on my application. Any thoughts as to what this means? THey are supposed to be meeting again this week. I have heard many say they have heard from them (either they were waitlisted, rejected or accepted.)

Just wondering if anyone has been accepted to the York Clinical-Developmental program since the open house day... Could the person who was accepted at York PM me to let me know which track they were accepted into? 🙂 It would really relieve some of my anxiety!

Does anyone know when we'll hear back from Northwestern Feinberg? The last interview was on March 12th. Thanks!

LIU has gone on spring break. All those accepted have already been notified. Wait list info is not available until they get back from spring break.

Hofstra has chosen not to accept me. ( Found out from a phone call)

I can't stop crying. Happy Monday everyone!

So it seems like people recieved phone calls from DU Friday and Saturday. Anyone recieve one yesterday or today? Think they are done extending offers?

Anyone still waiting to hear?

Just opened up a Yeshiva Clinical PsyD - hope this helps someone!

I was accepted into:

Virgina Tech - 3/9/10 email
University of New Mexico - 3/12/10 in person
University of Montana - 3/12/10 voicemail (since declined)

All PhD clinical programs

I found out some info. that might be helpful. Apparently, Loyola Chicago (clinical Ph.D.) has not given out all of their offers yet. They are waiting on updates from the grad school to determine some of this and should know "early this week" what further spots they can offer.

So just b/c you didn't get an offer there doesn't mean you won't! 🙂

Hello,
I'm not sure where you are at with your applications, but from the note assuming that you are not very happy with the outcome. I just wanted to give you a few words of comfort to let you know that things usually have a way of working themselves out. I was rejected two years in a row, and while I had a hard time dealing with these rejections, things have happened in my life that would not have been able to happen if I was in school and I believe that all of this happened for a reason. It was hard for me to be told "no" in a sense because my whole life I had been told that I could do anything I wanted. Now that I wanted to go into Clinical Psychology I found it very difficult to understand how I was not getting in. Just know that it is not the end of the world and that it may just be another hurdle to overcome and look back on and see how much you have grown. Maybe this next year you will be able to experience something that might not have happened and it may change everything. It will get better. Hope this wasn't too personal.

Thanks. I appreciate this, as I am still waiting and beginning to think of applying again in the fall. It's good to remember that life is more than just getting in 🙂

if the person who got into the jdp at sdsu/ucsd would not mind pming me their poi i would be very appreciative!

Anyone hear from Pace PsyD or been in contact with the school?

thanks

Hey, does anyone have details on Loyola MD's PsyD waitlist? I was rejected via snail mail a few weeks ago, so I'm wondering if that means I have no shot at the waitlist. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks 😀

I have not heard from Spalding either, but I recall hearing at the interview day that we'd hear the third week of March. So next week if we are lucky enough to receive an invite.

I was wondering if you heard anything for spalding today, I haven't yet and I am getting nervous. Sorry for some reason I cant PM you.

I know that some acceptances have gone out to the UConn Clinical Psychology program

Hey,
I am in the same boat too... I was thinking about calling them. I haven't heard anything yet either and I had an interview that I thought went well... Why are they meeting so many times? are they not making up their minds, are we all waitlisted but high priority, or is it dependent on who we interviewed with? I applied for their clinical psyd program... what about you?

Not yet....

The e-mail we got initially with the interview invite said they make decisions on March 24 and if you look back to last year they made decisions the same time and people were notified by email. So we have a little wait. best of luck

Just got accepted to Spalding's PsyD program!! This is my top choice! :soexcited:

I just received an email from the DCT at SUNY-Albany's Counseling Psyc program. I'm listed as an alternate. Yuck. Another month of waiting by the phone and refreshing my email.

Anywho, time to head on over to the Waitlist Blues thread, lol.

I interviewed at DU, and haven't heard anything from them yet. However, I strongly suspect I won't be getting an offer from them; I realized after the interview that I wasn't a good fit for the program, and I suspect they realized it too. 😀

(Thankfully I do have other offers, but I've been waiting to get official letters from those places before withdrawing my application at DU. To answer the obvious question there. 🙂)

I was wondering if anyone applied for a phd in psychology @ Columbia's TC but was admitted to the master's program instead.

Anyone know if this happens a lot?

I applied the developmental phd program but got admitted into the master's only today...not sure what to think of it.

I'm not sure how often it happens but that happened to me about four years ago during my first round of applications. I didn't end up going there for my MA so I don't know how many other individuals they offered this to. I felt somewhat honored by it, they must have been impressed by your application enough to want you even if they didn't have space for you in the PhD program.

I'm holding out hope till the end of this week. I think they do their offers on a rolling basis and a lot of the people I have been keeping in touch with haven't heard so lets keep our fingers crossed!

I applied to the school psych program. They said they admit some applicants into the master's program if they feel that you are a good applicant who needs some more preparation. There is a possibility, at least in the school psych program, to get into the PhD program through the master's (they choose two master's students to become PhD students).
