Hey guys,

I interviewed at Tufts on Wednesday and my status went back to "under review." Does anyone have the same thing?

ya i interviewed tuesday and it says same thing. im pretty sure thats what everyones does from reading other posts

Same. But a conclusion arrive in about a week... oh they waiting game again.
 
ya committee is meeting next friday if i remember correctly. hopefully hear something good next weekend.

Same here, went from "invited to interview" to "under review."
 
Tufts is really on top of this stuff. It'll go back to "under review" for a while and then it'll probably tell you if you got in before you even get the letter in the mail. Nothing to be worried about. Gooooood luck! 🙂

I may be getting a hoodie. I hope they come in navy blue. One of my friends is an undergrad at tufts and all her shirts are light blue. 👎

Supra, wasup man? How are things going?

I really enjoyed my day at Tufts. All the admissions staff were very friendly and Mark was really thorough and sincere in his presentation. As far as the interview, I had a 4th year student and it was real relaxed. More like a convo than Q&A session.

I think a long sleeve tee would be a nice thank you for the $1500 deposit.

I know some people posted links already for the bookstore that sells tufts dental shirt/hoodies...but the bookstore definitely has more selection. Plus there are the stuff that are on sale that aren't posted online. Colors I've seen are brown, navy, light blue, white, and a girl's fitted T in neon green. Full zips, half zips, pull overs, long/short sleeved, embroided, screen printed, and multiple brands to choose from.

They do. It will say Class of 2013 at the bottom for the newbies coming in. And as a forewarning.....its a purpleish/blue color with white words 👎. If your parents come, they will also each get one but I think w/o the "Class of 2013" printed on there.
 
Anyone know when the last day for a Tufts interview is? Also, Congrats on everyone who has been accepted and good luck to everyone still waiting!! 🙂

Is WVU a state school? Cost might be an issue if it is. Otherwise, Boston's a great city to be living in for four years. I was choosing between a state school and Tufts a few weeks ago and I was trying to get lots of advice because I wanted to find a reason to pick Tufts. In the end, I figured that itself was reason enough. :laugh:

I would probably take the state tuition myself, but if there was something about a big name private institution that blew me away and I was looking for a reason to choose to go there over the programs at SUNY Buffalo or Stony Brook, I wouldn't let the money issue stand in my way. Also, I agree with this statement. It's tough to choose a more expensive school, but if you really think you like that one better then go for it.

I don't think going to a name brand school like Tufts is enough to turn down the option of how much you're going to save by attending your state school. If all else equal between the two schools, go to your state school. You will realize how smart a decision you made.

Almost the exact words from my dentist and almost every dentist on SDN would, most likely, agree.

I actually disagree...do what your heart tells you, in the end you don't want to regret any decisions. I chose tufts over my state school; you will pay off your loans eventually, everyone does. Good luck! 👍

It was for me 🙂

Tufts is hardly a brandname though, no one in Illinois has heard of it lol.

And it's Tufts over UIC too, a pretty desirable state school. Morgantown is no Chicago.

Smart decision? whatever, I'm young, I'm allowed to make mistakes. 😛

That's exactly how much more going to Tufts is than going to UIC. Though I think of it as a year's salary, rather than in terms of 30 years. Most people pay off their loans in 10-15, and just make smaller loan payments initially, and larger payments when they're making bank. It's just money, it shouldn't be the main reason we're doing this whole dentistry thing, right? I only need 100K a year to live lol, anything more is play money. What's an extra K or 2 a month? 😛
 
haha that is why i decided to turn down the potential opportunity to go to l'ville, which would have saved me a total of over 60k. you can't beat the combination of education, lifestyle and experience that a city like Boston has to offer.

Congrats! Hey did your AADSAS status change to "Offer Made?" Mine did. Does that mean I'm in? I thought that is what they said at my interview last week. I really want to tell all my friends and family who have supported me but I'm thinking about waiting till I get the official letter?
 
Yeah, mine changed to offer made too. I didn't think they had interviews scheduled for today so I thought I would check, looks like they met early.

OMGG!!! YAY I seriously just checked AADSAS 10 minutes ago and I guess I didn't look carefully.. but it says offer madE!!! GAHHH IM SO EXCITED!!!
its my top choice! well my state school is suppose to be.. cus of money and all. BUT WHO CARES!!!! TUFTS TUFTS TUFTS!!!
lol im so going to go. even if I get into buffalo... i think i still want to go to tufts!
