Let's just use a class size of 100, it'll be the easiest. I've heard by Dec. 1st, a school will have a goal to fill 50% of its class. Now does this mean they send out roughly 50 acceptances? Or do they send out more, anticipating some others will choose a different school?

Then as the months go on, do they just send out acceptances accordingly? I'm sure the schools have this whole process down to a science, but does anyone know any more, or other interesting info?

Is this really necessary? Absolutely not, but I figured it'd serve as something interesting while killing time until the big day.

I've heard that at VCU one year they mailed out a certain number of acceptances and for some reason, that year, close to 100% of the people accepted the offer and they were stuck with a huge class size that they had a very difficult time accomodating. So I don't think it's an exact science.

alright babe, this is how it is.

My school of choice said they will send enough letters on Dec. 1st to fill out 20-30% of spots. That means they will send roughly about 50-60 letters, considering that ppl apply to multiple schools and not everyone will accept that particular school.

Just talking about texas, on average the same 250 ppl get interviews at all three schools, and out of those 250 maybe 200 will get those letters of acceptances to all three schools. Sadly...

Dean said that in order to fill out approximately 84 spots, they usually send out close to 130 letters... not bad.

U will get it!! Or else apply to TX next year so we can study together!

Hope to see you at Houston next year.

Most of the schools I interviewed at said that they would try to fill their class on Dec 1st. The number they have to invite is different for each school. UoP invites about 200 ppl for 150 slots. Indiana invites 3 times as many out of state students as there are slots. I don't know about instate.

Everyone is different. They would probably tell you their method if you called the admissions office. Good luck.

Wow, I didn't realize some of the schools were so different. Anyone else with their two pennies?

ME TOO!! hahah...

i recognized u right away! But didn't want to say much bc... well.... i might be a looser and never get that letter. BTW nice stats on pre dent... u blow me out of the water!!

GOOD LUCK!

I think CSI has a texas perspective on things.

I have nothing to do with texas schools since they only like texans.

All of my schools that I interviewed at with the exception of UNLV and Boston (who knows what they are thinking) are looking to fill ASAP.

Speaking of Boston, why the hell would a school get such a late start in interviewing? (any school in general)

It seems like it puts them at a disadvantage as far as getting great applicants goes.
In my case, I doubt I will even go to the interview because I will have already put money down somewhere else. I just don't get why a school would wait.

Late Start? I believe they start interviewing in mid October..

That seems somewhat late when some schools start interviewing in August.

Thanks. I guess there are not too many EE majors applying to Houston. Why don't you post your stats on predents. It would be nice to get more info from the people applying to Houston. 27 people doesn't give us much info about the applicant pool this year.
