Hey, didn't you, at one point, say you were waiting to see what the hype was about these? I haven't read any reviews or anything, so I'm not sure how they're supposed to compare to iPhone or any other fancy gadget. I still use one of those free phones from a rebate, because all I use my phone for currently is to talk.

I used one at Best Buy...they are pretty sweet...the web browsing works pretty damn well...

WVU, did you even think about buying the PS3? I'm wavering a bit. There are so many shades of gray, even when buying a damn gaming console. I think Xbox Live makes a strong case for the 360, but PS3 has a few exclusives that I'd rather not miss. Anyone else have an opinion?

I own a PS3, an XBox360, and a Wii.

I'd recommend buying all three.

However, if you are only going to get one...I'd go with the 360. The 360 just has better games overall. And a more happening online community. Plus, the controller doesn't give you hand cramps. I own 1 game for PS3...and I've only played 3 in total. The PS3's "best" exclusive game is terrible. Metal Gear Solid 4. Guh. Zero Punctuation has an honest review on that one. It's pretty much a subpar video game platform...although it plays blurays...and the multiplatform games like Fallout, EA Sports games, and Grand Theft Auto are on there, too...then on the other hand, you can buy a basic blu ray player for under $150 nowadays, anyway...and the 360 has all those games, too...

Nah, **** it, buy a 360...seriously...

Now that's my kind of review. I don't really like the Metal Gear Series, since I don't want to play interactive movies, but 3 was decent. I should have said exclusive, because I do enjoy Gran Turismo, but who the hell knows when that will emerge from the depths of release date hell. I could miss a good deal of quality gaming in that time. Bluray isn't much of an issue. I think the 360 is the better choice, thanks.

If you like Gran Turismo, check out Forza...it can be had for $20....

Now that you mention it, I have heard only good things about Forza. That just cemented the decision. I've watched a few Fallout 3 gameplay videos, and if I enjoy it as much as I think I will, I'll be dead to the world for a while. Also, it'll be nice to finally play Grand theft auto 4.

Prior to this job you never worked in a hospital? Reconciling MAR discrepancies was an intern's job at the hospital I worked at. Fun stuff.

The fudge you talkin about....I've was in a hospital back as far as 2001...

Man, I feel great...never went to sleep...wrote a new blog...then went out at about 7AM to shoot some hoops for about an hour...then I cut my grass...I love that tired feeling. You pick your arm up and it shakes...breathing heavy...dehydrated...entire body glistened in sweat...cutoff t shirt soaked...the best feeling in the world...

And...thus...I release #2 on the things that make hospital pharmacists irate...

2) Medication Reconciliation Sheets.

Good post. I thought I was the only one who bitched about these things. Absolute bane of our existence, but as you said, a necessary evil.

I also read a few of your archived posts. Is Kubrick still your favorite director? I'm watching the Killing tonight. Kubrick and Kurosawa were godlike.

The Killing was made before he had total control over his final product. As such, it is unfortunately flawed. He didn't get "real" control until Dr. Strangelove.

I've watched Killer's Kiss and Paths of Glory, and I must agree they are flawed. There's something ominous about Spartacus that's kept me from watching it. Strangelove is a freaking masterpiece.

Anyone else get the sense that Eyes Wide Shut is not a final product? I've always felt like he was nowhere near finished with that film.

The ending was jarring, but I think it was finished. Aside from his first few films, everything he did was unconventional. That stuff just comes with the territory.

No. The ending was pretty much perfect. That **** was just deep. It's a dream story...the second half parrots the first half...but the mirror image of it...Bill has all the power and influence...then in the second half he is powerless...compare the parties...in the first, everyone's intentions are concealed, but their faces are open...at the orgy, their faces covered, yet their intentions obvious...mirrors and reflections everywhere are important...but people thought the movie was about "love"....that's bull****....it's about power...and the fear of losing your sense of self importance...until your eyes are open...and then you can see that even the most powerful are powerless...Eyes Wide ****? Nah....I's Wide Shut...

I've seen it about 30 times...and each time the thing gets more meaningful. Every Kubrick move works on many levels...allegory is thick...

It was the first dvd I purchased. I watched it in the theater, and half of the audience walked out, the other half groaned collectively when it was over. It seems my friends and I were the only fans. I guess most people don't enjoy allegory. I remember bits of information leaked out before it was released, and all of the critics said it would be the sexiest movie ever. There was nothing sexy about that movie, and I agree there's no way it's about love.

lol...the "orgy" was pretty much meant to be disturbing...certainly not "sexy". I love the dream logic...Alice tells Bill that she would have left him for a moment in time for a Naval Officer...then the next scene...in perfect dream logic...a patient of his is willing to throw all she has with her fiance away at the shot of sleeping with Bill...as if Bill's own psyche needs the pickmeup...

I think I'll watch it right now...I got that **** on blu ray...

Well, you've analyzed it more than I have or came to the conclusions more quickly, but either way you make great points. Oh man, earlier I said blu ray didn't concern me, but I must watch Kubrick that way. I bet 2001 will make my head explode.

Got that one, too. It makes me wish I used LSD. The last act of that one makes my head hurt trying to figure it out...I have theories...not sure if they are any good...

It's intense. I'll admit I'm lost on the last act. Kubrick was always hesitant to spell out the correct interpretation, so I guess my thoughts are as good as I want them to be. If you want to put down your theories, I'm all eyes. We'll see what we can come up with.

Dudes, thanks. I'ma go watch that movie again... probably after I graduate...

working in the iv room...making tpn...wishing they made larger volume bags of amino acids/d70/water.

So, I'm probably about to get a blackberry curve 8330 on the Sprint Network....What do you guys think?

I was using a T-mobile Wing for a year and a T-mobile MDA previous to that, but decided I hate T-mobile...for no reason. That, and I broke my wing screen with my crutches =-(

IF that's what you like.

I was going to get a Palm Pre...but the more I think about it...the more I don't like it. I might see what's up with that htc touch pro 2...

Yeah, that HTC is SEXXXXYYYYY! That would be my dream phone probably, but I really don't want to spend 400 dollars on another phone, which is what the Wing cost me when I got it last summer!

Plus, I always seem to break the screens of touch screen phones xD

That **** is supposed to get to Sprint on September 2nd...(Sprint and AT&T are pretty much the only major nat'l brands in Mo'Town...lol...)..I'ma def gonna go down and play with one.

HAHA, yeah last time I talked to to T-mobile Rep she was telling me about this phone. If I recall correctly, she said this was basically the new T-mobile Wing [which was the new T-mobile MDA].

I've been a fan of the MDA line (which is actually the HTC herald I think) since I've first seen it.

The phones are just too darn expensive, though!

yup, thinking of either the htc touch pro 2 or even the htc hero coming in oct. (comes with flash support)

getting ready to retire my instinct...

Yeah, but buying anything that Apple makes means you are a douchebag. Or some nutty woman that's into some arbitrary New Age religion who spends her free time making Youtube videos of herself doing some sort of weird interpretive dance to the Gods of Nature with Adiemus in the background...

Anyway, yeah, it's a man law.

I thought that was the Palm? Hahah.

There was nothing else touch-screen and as hearty as the iPhone when I got it. For high impact field training exercises and 110+ degree temperatures, it was tits, and still keeps on goin'.

I still don't understand this whole brand warfare thing.

The palm pre is for cyborg women that speak in sentence fragments.

One month till school starts, I can hardly wait.

Jesus. 5500 posts in under 2 years? And I thought I didn't have a life.

Quoting a fellow SDNer, who quoted me - "SDN is my best friend".

I'm going to real SDN meet in a couple weeks, bunch of people that have been on here for years. Excited.
