So, on my trek out West later this month, I will be stopping for the night in Wall, SD--home of Wall Drug (http://www.walldrug.com/default.aspx). Apparently it's one of the "big things to do" in SD. Heh.

Oh yeah...you can't miss it. Billboards along the side of the road for like 100 miles advertising it. Kind of neat place if you like touristy stuff. The bad lands and Mt. Rushmore were much more interesting.

Has anyone seen the following story? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090504/lf_nm_life/us_britain_babyfoods

I included the text below:

Some baby foods worse than junk food: survey

LONDON (Reuters) – Some baby foods contain as much sugar and saturated fats as chocolate biscuits or cheeseburgers, a British food pressure group said on Monday.
Publishing results of a survey of more than 100 foods for babies and toddlers, the Children's Food Campaign said Farley's rusks were 29 percent sugar and some Cow & Gate toddler biscuits contained trans fats, which have been linked to heart disease.
"The results of this survey are staggering," said Christine Haigh, spokeswoman for the CFC.
"Many foods marketed for babies and young children are advertised as healthy. In reality, in terms of sugar and saturated fat content, some are worse than junk food."
The CFC survey found that 100g of Farley's Original Rusks, made by Heinz, contained 29g of sugar, more than that contained in the same weight of some chocolate digestive biscuits.
Heinz Toddler's Own Mini Cheese Biscuits contained 7.3g of saturated fat per 100g, more than the 6.7g in an equal weight piece of a McDonald's quarter pounder burger with cheese.
Cow & Gate, which makes a range of baby and toddler formula milks and foods, responded to the survey by halting production of its baby biscuits.
"In discussion with the Food Standards Agency we have already taken the decision to discontinue our baby biscuits, when we became aware of the presence of hydrogenated fat, which contains a very small amount of trans fats," a spokeswoman said.
Heinz defended its Farley's rusks as an "ideal weaning food for babies from around four months."
"Farley's Rusks have been enjoyed by generations of babies, and some adults too, for 120 years," it said in a statement. "Enriched with vitamins and minerals, the unique Farley's Rusk recipe has remained virtually unchanged."
The CFC, part of food and farming campaign group Sustain, said it examined the nutritional content of 107 baby and toddler foods available in UK supermarkets in March.
It found only half the products were low in saturated fat, salt and sugar, as defined in Britain's Food Standards Agency guidance.
Might as well give your baby that cheeseburger.

Got the new Eminem album bootleg...a good Scots-Irish boy with Appalachian roots is the king of rap again...lol.

The last track is "fire" as the kids say these days...my favorite line:

"Insanity, vanity, where's the humanity in having a twisted fantasy with an arm and leg amputee."

Hahaha. Dude is like a walking, talking Jerry Springer episode.

I just got back from my best friend's bachelorette party. 🙂 We had a blast! No... we had a picture perfect, decked out, hellofa good time! 😀

I was one of two hostesses for the party, and it was AMAZING! 😍

Most memorable moment: The bachelorette (dressed in black and pink) on stage in her get-up featuring: a hot pink, tulle veil; a string of beads with shot glass hanging from it; a black feather hair pin; and a hand cuffed to a lifesized blow-up doll wearing a plastic, polka-dotted pink and black bow tie named Peter! 😛

Most embarrassing moment: I was downstairs on Bourbon St. holding the blow-up doll while the girls were finishing up their make-up... without a care in the world, mind you, and the bachelorette's mother and aunt were next door looking over their balcony and laughing at me while people were taking pictures of me in my pink and black halter top dress holding the doll (in shame)! 😱

Happiest moment: Everyone's expression upon walking into the room; it was decorated that well! E.g., bundles and bundles of balloons; pin the ----- on the man poster; a disco ball; streamers; ribbon and cellophane-wrapped bottles of champagne; champagne glasses; boas floating across the top of picture frames; pink and black gift bags; bags and bags of beads and throws for the balcony; a gorgeous cake featuring: sexy Sue, hunky Hank, two tiny, crossed champagne glasses, and bundles of plastic balloon trim pieces; and of course... a huge plasma tv that was never turned on. 😉

Most relieving moment: Walking out of the hotel room with an iced, caramel macchiato in one hand and no where to go except to catch a street car to go home. 👍

I'm spending too much time contacting moving companies and getting quotes. Sadly I have too much stuff to move in just my Element 🙁

There are a bunch of people on the city-data.com forum that live in the city you are moving to. I'd go on there and ask them these questions...they are great about giving suggestions on local services.

If you are moving anywhere...that's the website...

Saved a patient from harm tonight...family physician admitted a patient...ordered a PO-level dose of enalaprilat (10mg) to be given IV q6h PRN. For the uninformed, that should be more like 1.25mg iv q6h...the floor overrode the Pyxis (why the **** is that legal?)...they were about to draw it up before I called.

It makes me queasy some of the **** we have on override...and they should REALLY REALLY have some sort of focus in pharmacy education on doses of medication that aren't equivalent when comparing IV to PO. That **** can be lethal. I was actually pissed off for a while at the whole situation. I think its because I saw the patient in the hallway earlier...there's something about that...looking them in the eye...the idea of harm being done to that poor, fragile old man made me infuriated...odd.

WOW! Good job! 👍

I know exactly what you mean. I feel that way about (old) people and animals. It can make your life that much more meaningful...

I'm driving down to Cleveland on Saturday because I've never had White Castle and I'm curious what it's like.

My Organic Chemistry class had a lot of smoking hot girls in it. I have a date with one of them on Tuesday. I could probably use that $40 that I didn't get from that one chick that I gave graduation tickets to. Oh, well.

You have to be higher than Harold and Kumar to enjoy it...and i told you so...

So I went to reserve a rental car today, because my sister is graduating out of town tomorrow, and they asked me if I had a valid drivers license. Seriously??? Do people try to rent cars without valid drivers licenses?

Ive seen people come up to the counter and ask if they could get X filled without a perscription. Heck, once while moving I saw someone at a UHAUL trying to rent a trailer without a car to tow it - the look on the salsesmans face was priceless. So, that really doesnt surprise me that they would ask if you had a valid drivers license, because I am sure someone has tried it before.

After your date with White Castle you will no longer wonder why they call them sliders.

Slide right in, slide right out?

Oh well...they can't do any worse to my bowels than Mighty Taco.

Thanks for clearing that up! 👍

They basically just told me that sometimes people come in after their birthdays with recently expired licenses, but your explanation is much more understandable.

Two weeks from today will be day one of my four-day westward trek across this here US of A. Should be approaching Chicago around this time. Hopefully traffic won't be that bad.

Props to whoever can say (without Googling) what the word under my SN means.

Chicago traffic is pretty bad...are you going through the city? Isn't that out of the way to WV or are you being a tourist?

I hate birds.

At least ducks fear me and fly away. Took friend's 5 y/o fishing yesterday to a neighborhood lake. And I've heard about the flock of resident geese terrorizing women and children.

Well well.... 3 geese started to hiss and come towards me when I got out of the car... c'mon, how stupid are they. I'm a human. I'm much larger.. and I'm much stronger than them. Pick your battles birds. I tried to shoo them away...and they started to come faster..

So I ran towards them and beat the chit out of them with my fishing pole! I didn't kill them or hurt them... they ran away quickly. And every time they saw me....they moved away.

I hate birds.

Oh...the boy caught first fish of his life.

I'm going to WA, not WV. 😉

I'm taking 80 to 294 to 90 and taking 90 the rest of the way to WA.

I knew that! Haha..294 is never a fun ride during rush hour, but you'll be going against most of the traffic until you get near Oak Brook and the airport..80 is pretty bad around the IN/IL border..90 will be bad until you get past the NW suburbs...

If you will be there around rush hr and alternative might be 80 to 355 to 88 to 39 which becomes 90 around Rockford. Not sure how much that might take you out of your way.
