..meanwhile, everyone else on the planet wants Kobe vs Lebron...

I was kind of hoping for Melo vs. Lebron...the clash of the young stars, I think that's just what the NBA needs to get people interested in the sport again and get their ratings back up.

YAY!!! Magics Won. 😀
I want Magics to win cause I consider them the underdogs. They haven't entered the final since 1995. No one believed in them. I'm from Florida and I remembered when the game seats were free for students because no one will go to the games. People still didn't show up. Now the stadium is packed with people. They endured all that and then sum. They deserve that win and the championship.

Who are the "Magics"??

If we take the "s" from Magics and put it at the end of final, we almost have a coherent sentence.

My mother always refers to the Houston Texans as the Texas Houstons. Women are silly creatures.

It's official; I've moved to Birmingham, AL. For the first time in my life, I have a place I can call my own, even though it's an apartment with an uneven floor.

I'm still unpacking.

congrats!!!! I put down a deposit for my new place on Friday. I move in 2 weeks

What part of town you staying in?

It's about 3 blocks from the hospital, so walking distance if I care to, but not in the immediate area surrounding the hospital - about 1/2 way between the hospital and Ritter Park.

I'm directly across from a Little League field, so this summer I can sit on the porch and watch kids play baseball while I drink a beer.

I promise to have my first Yuengling when I go back.

Your first??? Oooooh...it's my fave! 🙂

The peeps in WV are crazy about their Yingling, man. I don't know if you know this, but they just started distributing it in WV a few weeks ago...so any exuberance you experienced about the brew from the locals is likely due to the newness of the thing.

Eminem got teabagged by Sasha Baron Cohen(Borat) at the MTV Movie Awards... He stormed out of the show. I heard it might be staged though, but that wouldn't make much sense, because wouldnt that ruin his career 😕

Haha...can you believe I haven't even tried that?

I used to drink Yuengling in Florida too though! Though the waitresses didn't know how to pronounce it and said Yooo-en-ling. 😛

I love Yuengling. That and Guinness are my favorites by a mile and a half. 😍

There isn't enough room to list all of my interests in the default SDN profile template thingy. I demand more space. DEMAND I SAY!!!

Get the ACPE on it, apparently whatever they're involved in can't grow fast enough. :meanie:

Oh, I'm going to get so much heat for saying that.

Wow...Conan keeps his band...adds Andy Richter...and he does a segment on his Ford Taurus...haha.

The people I work with have a hard on for Leno and feel it necessary to hate on Conan. He was alright tonight, I figure he can only get better.

Conan is ridiculously more funny than Leno. Even his random side sketches are funnier than Leno. Like The Interrupter.

Though I appreciate Leno. He's so damned middle-of-the-road that he pleases everyone. Good at making you chuckle, but nothing incredible. Headlines was always great. Conan has an elite sense of dry humor. His work last year during the writers strike when he had to write all of his own shows was unbelievable. I'm excited. I'm just afraid America won't get him...

Conan is effing hilarious, he definitely deserves the gig.

That Sarah McLachlan commercial for the ASPCA gets me every time. The pictures and videos of abused animals are pretty difficult to take. <<opens wallet>>

agreed. those are rough.

I find the banter between Conan and Andy Richter rather awkward.

So, I drove through the Badlands National Park earlier today. Awesomeness.

I'm staying in Wall, SD tonight, and Wall Drug was closed when I got here. Man, I sure was looking forward to that free ice water. 😛

So how did you like all the billboards? Where are you at now? Did you see Mt Rushmore?

Since my move, I've had to make a lot of purchases, and I stopped by CVS because they have a store on UAB's campus. My place is empty, and apart from books, I have almost no other means of diversion, so to amuse myself I began looking through my receipts. I found that not only does CVS charge almost twice the price of other places, but they also collect a sales tax that is one percentage point higher than every other store I went to.

Does anyone know why this is? Are they being taxed differently than other stores?

Miller Lite.....best by far!

Miller High Life isn't bad (particularly when drank in quantities of 32 oz mugs); I'm not a big homer for light beers though. Beck's Light is okay, as is Yunegling Light, but other than that, if I want a beer that'll be lower in calories and alcohol, I just opt for Guinness Draught.

I think I'm addicted to green tea. I drink anywhere from 4-10 cups daily.

Nothing but the best for me! I did try a new beer the other day because they have the most bad ass commercial ever. I don't always drink beer. When I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Miller lite is still better.

The Dos Equis World's Most Interesting Man actually is quite interesting. He's a B rated American actor named Jonathan Goldsmith. He's been on like every sitcom..including your favorite CHiPs.. since the 70's. but he's never a regular..just one or two episodes....

I am leaving for Boston in the morning, supposedly they have good beer there? I will do some detailed field research and report back.

Heh..I'll be in New England week after.. but no beer for me. Just lobsters.

So this musician lady, Koko Taylor, died yesterday, so they've been playing her music in tribute all nite long on my local jazz station. Excellente'... 👍👍

You listen to a local Jazz station. Whats wrong with you? I did not know they even have Jazz stations on the radio?
Wrong? Nothin's wrong! You know where I live, right? They have a great jazz & heritage station here. 🙂

Actually, I listen to just about everything. I listen to alternative/rock, classic rock, mix top 40 stuff, hip-hop, and of course... jazz/blues. I like a few other types too, like freestyle and techno, but I've never found a station for those. 😛

Lately, I've been staying away from alternative/rock and classic rock, because I have nothing to be worried and angry about. So... I've been sticking to mix top 40, hip-hop, and jazzy stuff. I like the jazzy stuff at home, because it's relaxing and groovy... especially with my favorite candle burning.

Oh, and blues is just good. The Blues tent was my favorite stop at Jazz Fest...

So how did you like all the billboards? Where are you at now? Did you see Mt Rushmore?

Sorry, just now seeing this, Mtn. I've been in western WA since Monday. 🙂 Next stop after Wall was Missoula (about 11 hours) and then here (about 8.5 hours from Missoula). The drive from Rapid City until Spokane was awesome (except for Billings and Butte...ick). After Spokane, WA gets really ugly until you reach the foothills of the Cascades. Snoqualmie Pass was so incredibly beautiful.

I started seeing signs for Wall Drug in MN, 355 miles from the dang store! Haha. Man, South Dakota has a TON of billboards. They even had a sign for some auto shop, boasting "24 hour toe service." I wonder what they do with toes??? 😱 :meanie: Oh, and my odometer rolled through 77,777 miles near Mitchell, SD, and I took a picture. Heh.

And no, we didn't have time to do the Rushmore thing, since we were travellin' with 4 animals, but we did take the Rt. 240 loop detour through the Badlands. I've heard Rushmore's the place to be during 4th of July, so maybe next year or the year after that.

I love my new apartment, though, and for the first 4 days here, we had nothing but sun, so I had a clear view of the Olympic Mountains from my living room and bedroom. 🙂 Can't see 'em today, though, since it's cloudy.

So, since moving my old, big, boxy big-screen TV here would have been more than just buying something new (plus, it was boxy as previously stated, so that = outdated), I am the proud owner of a brand new 42" Philips LCD HDTV. It's a thing of beauty. I'm watching cooking shows on PBS and Food Network with a whole new respect and appetite! 😍
