wooo 12/10/13 on last AAMC practice test! feeling goood 🙂 ... hopefully this positivity lasts till Saturday lol

The particle accelerator one? By the grace of God I got all of the questions right. Mostly lucky guesses and process of elimination.

yeh the particle accelerator.. I got one wrong and I guessed on most of it too lol

good job guys we got less than 2 days to go!

all the goodluck texts and calls are starting to come in and its even more stressful lol...almost feels like an added pressure

we got this! I'm looking forward to sharing our thoughts about it Saturday afternoon 😳

woww thats such a great score! but i must say, im not too suprised, you have been doing reallllly well

i just finished aamc 10 too, 13-9-12.....and i was 1 question away from a higher score in EVERY section (so +3= a 37) how annoying
i cannnnt believe that if i had gotten 1 more question right in each section i woulda done so well. not that the ones i missed were stupid, but after looking at the ones i missed, this test was pretty lame

that sympathetic pathway passage ate me alive....anyone else have trouble with that one?

i really wanted to come out of this one with an amazing score to push me forward into the real deal and now i don't know :/

how do you know you were 1 question away from a higher score?

Edit: Nevermind! Found it 🙂

Yeah that last passage in 10 was similar to one from kaplans PS. Still not as rediculus as kaplans tho..

a few weeks ago i had a dream that i was taking the test and all the correct answer choices were filled in for me! what a dream hahaha

1.5 dayssssssssssssss

hahaha you never know, maybe aamc.org felt that you are a perfect person to experiment with

wow imagine that. i wonder if i would be comfortable with just leaving the answers there anyways...would definitely leave them for verbal 🙂

I'd definitely still take the test lol I'd see if the answers I knew for a fact were right were filled out correctly. I'd probably change a few, land myself at around a 43

Hey guys,
Congrats to all you who are at or near your dream score, and for those of you that aren't, just remember there's still time, and though AAMC is an accurate indicator, it all depends on your state of mind and preparation on the day of the test.

A couple of days ago, I was a bundle of nerves and completely falling apart :scared:, but now that the freak-out is over, I think I am ready. I believe I have done the best possible on my end, and that's all that matters. The rest will all fall in place.👍😀

Random thought guys. I have noticed a couple of questions about drug delivery, and was wondering if you guys have anything to offer on this:
What are the different models of drug delivery?
How do you decide which is the best model of delivery?

I have been wondering about this or a while, and just kept putting it off. Now that I am trying to close all the gaps, this is one of those concepts that keeps popping up in my mind.

Thanks to anyone who answers, and good luck!!!!👍

bigballer, if the lakers lose. u can take your anger out on the mcat cuz i know i definitely would've. i definitely coulda used some extra fire for the 3/27 test

Very true. State of mind plays a HUGE role in taking the test. I just took AAMC #10:

Total 30 PS 9 VR 10 BS 11

During the PS section, I had difficulty concentrating, big time, and i barely finished on time. Upon reviewing my test, i marked 3 incorrectly, miscalculated 2, and misread the question twice. For verbal, i made a few dumb mistakes as well, but started to concentrate more. For Bio, I was fully focused (even finished 15 minutes early), and the only questions that I missed were Ochem related. It seems like a couple of jumping jacks/pushups in between sections helps alot.

Good luck everyone

Just took my last AAMC (no. 10) and got a 12 10 13 for a 35. Feeling pretty good but I thought the curve was pretty harsh. I got 48/52 which is usually a 13 easily but today it was only a 12. Overall though, this feels really good going into the test. Last few tests have been around or above my goal. Can't wait to be done with this damn test.

👍 Well done and ditto on wanting to be finished with this thing!

Hey guys,

Wanted to quickly reply, although I think this may go slightly beyond the scope of the test.
I'm not sure about determining the best model, usually PoE is enough: Think of what will be ineffective and why, but keep it simple.

Humans are fairly resistant towards foreign particles/toxins.. we try to prevent random bacteria/proteins/nucleic acids from just floating around willy-nilly.

Peptide drugs must be injected, because in the digestive tract the stomach acid/enzymes degrade proteins.. (i.e. insulin, immunizations).

The only way to effectively target/modify DNA/RNA is by using a viral vector. Free nucleic acids would be broken down quickly by nucleases.

For something to be taken up in the lung capillaries it must be extremely small, (nicotine).

Feel free to add on, good luck with the final review everyone!

Good Luck guys!
I just took my MCAT on the 23rd. If I were to give you any advice for Saturday it would be just two things:
1. do NOT be nervous during the test (especially during the physics since its your first section)
2. do not waste time on any one particular passage and manage your time well.

Ace it!

thanks everyone for the encouragement its already here wow i cant believe it

eh no big deal, just the biggest test of the last 4 years to determine the next 4/5 HA

You've prepped long and hard; you're as ready as you can be for this test; your perseverance has been unbelievably .... umm .... Wait, hold on a sec; I'm getting a call ..... ..... Ok, sorry. That was AAMC stating that the mcat is a little nervous to be meeting you this weekend. He wants you to take it easy on him.

You got this!

I can't believe it's almost here!

So, my plan was to send my kid to daycare tomorrow even though I took the day off work. Then she spiked a fever today (she's cutting two molars at the same time) and they told me I had to pick her up and she had to be out for 24 hours after spiking a fever like that. Thankfully, my sister is coming over to keep her occupied for most of the afternoon. Still... sucks.

It is pretty helpful for review. It has a great outline, and even some passage questions. Also, has solid info. on verbal passages (types, how to answer, etc.). Hope this helps.

Thanks so much :biglove:. I am kind of hoping there is a question about this on the exam. That would be awesome. Regardless, good info. to have.

I cannot wait to impose my will on the MCAT.....we shouldn't be afraid of the MCAT.....the MCAT should be afraid of us! Especially me lol hahah jk.

But seriously I am already planning what to do on Saturday night and all signs point to getting wasted in order to forget every question on the test so that I do not spend the month after going insane on SDN.

hey quick ques guys

the same person doesnt read both essays, right? im going to probably use the same exact "outline" format for both ...like same opening and closing statements lol is that ok?

i havent even thought about the essay so i just thought maybe i should outline one or two today

I'm pretty sure you're SUPPOSED to use the same outline for both.

Paragraph one - Reiterate statement. Define statement. Give an example.

Paragraph two - Counter arguement. Give an example of when the statement may NOT be true.

Paragraph three - Resolve the two arguements.

I'm going to read some examples of these tonight before I hit the hay. We'll be done this shiz in less than 24 hours! At least the East coast folks will be.

yeah il be in the middle of raping the BS right about this time tomorrow haahha

no what i meant was the same exact words used, as adjectives and such, yeah i know the format should be like you said, but the opening line (and many other lines in the essay) will be word for word the same, with the different examples in its place. thats ok right? i know its ok if its not the same reader reading both, but if (s)hes reading both my essays, he will think (s)he has deja vu

You will NOT have the same person read both essays. So re-use whatever you'd like!

Believe it or not, my scores seem to turn out better when I feel like that after a practice test. So I'm not sure how to hope to feel at the end of this thing!

You are right. I think the appropriate words would be:

Hopefully, none of us feel like this after seeing our scores on June 1st, 2010.

:bang::smack::barf:👎scared:
