Hey Everyone,

I was searching through the threads to see if one has been created for this test date yet, but I could not find it so I thought I would create it. I am waiting for finals to finish up and then going to hit practice tests for the next three months!

AAMC 10 verbal is sort of crazy lol. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Check out this thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=651156&highlight=AAMC+verbal-what

That's weird because I thought AAMC 10 was one of the easier ones. I guess there are varying opinions on verbal haha. I think this just shows that depending on the passages someone gets, they will score either higher or lower and not to rely too much on averages but to give it your all on test day 👍.

Well I just took the physical science section of AAMC 10... definitely not a morale booster 🙁

I found it to be wayyyy harder than 8 or 9. Thought some of the questions just came out left field....literally guessed on one or two of them (never done that before)

Ended with a 10 (after a 12 on 8, and an 11 on 9) but made some really dumb mistakes (1/2 not the same as 2/1 lol). Probably could have hit a 12 if I didn't make the mistakes but I feel DRAINED.

How's everyone else doing

Well folks, we're getting down to the wire here...I don't even know how I'm going to manage to pull off that day-before-test mini vacation tomorrow. Doesn't the thought of not staring at a book the day before an exam terrify you?

I plan on at least glancing at my flashcards/review notes... No more than an hour of so of actual thinking, though 😀

I'm not actually testing until the Friday the 30th, but I wanted to wish everyone in here good luck tomorrow!

Thanks! Best of luck to you on Friday!

Don't be scared. We are going to kill it! Put your game face on 😡

True story, we got this! I keep dreaming of the day we all come back to this thread and everyone is ecstatic with their score...there's enough room at the top for all of us, and my fingers are crossed that that day becomes a reality!

We got thissssssssss! Just think of how great you're going to feel when the burden of the MCAT is lifted!
24hours till we're all seated to write this thing!

Wake up at 10ish, shower, eat, and leave.

What's everyone doing right now/today? I'm doing some light review and watching TV.

I'm doing a quick review of everything then going to try and relax and think happy thoughts (i.e. life without MCAT )

Today I've been doing light reviewing, working out, and practicing my music. And praying. Lots of praying. Haha. But other than that it's been a pretty laid-back day...I think I'm calmer now than I was a month ago, which is really strange and totally against my procrastinating nature haha

Tomorrow I'm waking up at 9 (assuming I can sleep) and then shoving down a nice breakfast, some nutrition bars and leaving for the test at 11:45 (it's a drive). I'm listening to all my Get Psyched playlist today and not tomorrow so that none of the tunes start running endlessly in my head when I take the exam 🙂

I've actually been driving with the radio off since yesterday haha
Stupid catchy songs!

Post of firsts: First post and first MCAT tomorrow!

I'm shooting for 32-34 range, and will be happy with anything 30+.

I've scored 33 on back to back full-lengths from AAMC, so my confidence is high, and I'm ready to tackle this thing tomorrow.

Good luck everyone.

Good Luck on the MCAT guys.

Quick question though, I cant find my notes to the writing section and I remember there is a list of things that should be included in these sections. Like 7 different things, Starting off with restating the prompt, examples supporting the main idea, counter examples. and then a conclusion. If someone can give me some credible information as to exactlyyyy what they want that would save me a lot of time.

Thank you.

Best of luck tomorrow!!! :luck:

Please remember that when you take the MCAT you sign an agreement, saying that you will not discuss test specifics. If you post MCAT specifics on SDN, the moderation staff will post hold your account for a week. It's not fun, so please don't make us do it. If you are unsure how specific you can/can't be, please refer to this thread.

:xf::luck::xf::luck:

I'm just referring to the EK book but in a summary:
1. Explain the statement as thoroughly as possible with an example to clarify
2. Give a specific example contradicting the statement
3. Give a guideline that anyone could use to determine when the statement is true and when it's false.

A good response is typically 4 paragraphs but length does not matter as long as you follow the above directions thoroughly. Also, if you can think of historical examples that would be better than personal examples. Or can use hypothetical examples. And remember that you necessarily don't have to go in the order described above. Hope this helps and everybody does well! I'm taking the MCAT 2nd time tomorrow, hoping for a big turnaround.

Good luck to you and everyone on the exam. we will rule it!!!! im over and out.

Nope. I'm bout to call it a day. I'll look things up on my way to the test center tomorrow but as far as I'm concerned tonight is over. BRING IT MCAT!

haven't even opened a book or looked at a flashcard today... I'll probably spend an hour or so with some light review tomorrow morning. I can already feel the nerves, so I dunno how I'm gonna go to bed... I also woke up at 11 today so this could be a problem lol

same here, I took a nap and now I don't think I'll be able to sleep early...
but waking up thinking I've missed the test was crazy....nightmare

i had the dream last night that i woke up late and almost missed it, then when i got there it wasnt multiple choice i was like whoa

I'm from the 7/30 thread, but I just wanted to wish you guys good luck tomorrow! :luck: I'm sure all of your hard studying will pay off in the end 🙂

a bit nervous.... hehe.

time to study some history for writing samples... then drink a beer to calm myself... then go to bed hopefully

Good Luck all! This is my 2nd time with the MCAT...so hopefully I will murder it! If anyone is taking in Syracuse I will see you there!

Go give that test a beating tomorrow.

1) Do not discuss the specifics of the MCAT exam. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Divulging one or more answer choices, parts of answer choices, or the answer itself
  • Revealing the question stem itself or a part of the question stem
  • Outlining part of the process required to solve a problem
  • Soliciting specific information about a question
  • Asking another user to Private Message (PM) you regarding a question/passage
  • Highlighting the specifics of a passage, including information not directly related to a question.
  • Posting entire questions
  • Discussing any other information that would make it easier to answer an MCAT question.
  • You may post only general information about the topics covered on the exam, "I had a passage about rickets", and your feelings, "I thought the rickets passage was very hard."
**If one of your posts is identified as revealing too much information, your account will be immediately post-held for seven days.

As a litmus test, ask yourself the following question before posting:
  • “Will what I am about to post make it easier for another member to answer an MCAT question? Will it give them a specific idea about what to expect on an exam?"
If the answer is yes, or you are unsure, do not make the post. If you absolutely must, send a private message to a moderator and ask us if it’s okay.

Okay, just got out of the test center, on from my phone. I scored it!

PS-easier than aamcs, thank God.

VR-so ambiguous!!! Not monstrous like 6/17 2pm verbal, though.

WS-lol

BS-omg this was SO hard! And this is supposed to be my strongest section. I got a 12 on this last year. Praying for a 9/10.

Details when I get home. Hope everyone else did well. We are done!!

Oh snaps. i'm waiting for ur story.

Physics was manageable felt like aamc test.. Verbal was good not as bad as the practice exams. Bio was much more diff than pectins exams there wasn't much orgo. Details later

Wow. Sounds exactly, and I mean exactly, like our 7/16 test. Except I got owned on VR. I felt it was ambiguous and brutally long.

Like you I'm bio strong, but I felt like I got slammed down 2 or 3 points lower than my average also. I've taken at least 5-7 upper division bio classes also (genetics, cell bio, etc) and still I thought it was challenging. GENETICS GENETICS. I can't imagine how people with 1 year of bio succeed on the challenging passages, especially genetics.

By the way, I got banned for like a week for talking specifics, so don't talk specifics I guess. You can't even say answer choices (which I found out, lol).

Good luck guys! Waiting is sure as hell annoying. Sounds like you guys had similar test to us though.
