I'm on the West Coast! I was in bed when she called!
 
I just got an Email. After 4 cycles, an MPH, and a billion service hours, I got into my #1 choice.

They go to rolling admissions. They will still do interviews up to March I believe. You should get something if you got on the "wait list" which just keeps you in the pool. They also have an "alternate list" that is a much smaller list. The "wait list" is pretty much means you can possibly make the "alternate list" which is the list acceptances are taken from.

ah, thanks a bunch. that makes sense. do you know how/if they communicate which list you're on (if at all), or should i call them next week or something?
 
Ms. Baab had said that during my interview that we can call a few days after the initial rounds of acceptances go out to find out, to ask if we have a chance of being accepted or not.

She also mentioned that ASDOH would prefer you to tell them if you got into a school or not today, so then they can tell you which group you're in, "top, middle, or bottom group" and depending on which group you're in you have a better chance of being accepted later. They do that to give you an idea of whether you should put your deposit down at another school or not, especially if ASDOH is your top choice.

Got the call today at 9:31 CST but they called my home phone instead of my cell phone. So I found out through the voicemail they left!

If you have not gotten a call, hang in there! There is still a very good chance you will get in. It's still very early and I know people who got interviews in March(in ASDOH and in other schools) who got in before school started. Good luck and dont give up!

This is true.

Also, they will accept at random. I have had friends who interview post-dec and receive an acceptance 2 days later.

To all those with out an acceptance, keep the faith alive!!
 
For those who were accepted, may I ask when your interview date was?
Also, after initial round of acceptance, do they wait a while before starting to accept more, or do they make more calls during December?

Hummm good point, if it's a closed group I wouldn't be able to look it up :/ Time to start our own! !! I'm happy to initiate it,but FB would not allow me to create the group unless I invite members . SO start volunteering FB names or PM me. 🙂
 
I got in! I was told that I need to take Animal Phys before I start classes. I'm looking into taking it online. Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
I got accepted! I will be moving there in july. Did anyone get accepted from the East coast? I'm trying to rent a truck and move there. If anyone wants to car pool, let me know.

Has anyone, who has not been accepted yet, called ASDOH to see their chances of getting in? I have an acceptance to a school that is a backup and ASDOH is my top choice. I still have not been accepted to ASDOH. I really don't want to put the deposit down for the other school but I also don't know if I should call to ask about my status.

Has anyone dealt with this issue? I'm hesitant to call because during my interview they said that it was okay to call and ask about your status, but the letter I the letter I received after the interview indicated otherwise.
 
I am calling ASDOH tomorrow to cancel my interview on the 12th. Not sure if that will open a spot being a post-Dec interview. Just thought I would throw that out there.

i tried calling to find out, had to leave a message, and obviously they've been too busy to call me back, so i'm going to try calling again tomorrow. i know the interview letter said may 1, but i'm calling anyway.

If you have an acceptance go ahead and call. This is how ASDOH admissions office works...if you did not get accepted you are put on a "waiting" list, as an example say 50 ish or so. From that list, they rank you such as maybe the top 10 are "strong" possibilities, etc. Since you have 30 days to send your deposit, just call ASDOH admissions and when you get through explain your situation and see what part of the "waiting" list you are on.

Another option is to email as well, as the admissions office is always busy and on the go.

If I interviewed middle of November, and got no after interview letter, and no acceptance so far, does that mean my chances are becoming slim? Do they still offer acceptances during December and January to pre-Dec. interviewees? I tried contacting admissions, but no reply yet...

Hey, I interviewed around the same time and never received a letter after my interview. However, I contacted them and they did get back to me, via email. Perhaps try email if you haven't already? Good luck man
 
Yes, but the number of seats left is varied. Last year, I interviewed LATE January and they still had 17 seats left. Who knows if that number is more or less this year but just to give you reference. I was accepted Feb 1 so keep your head up if your package/interview was late.

Since you already interviewed all I can say is to contact admissions via phone or email to see how far up/down the list you are on. Normally dental schools will try and wait until feb 1 for another "round" of acceptances for two reasons: One to go through all the students who applied late and interview them. Two, because after Feb 1, students only have two weeks to place a down payment vice one month.

If you need any specific information pm me and I will send you my email. I am currently a D1 ambassador here and will give you any information you need.
 
Are they still planing on sending more interview invites out? I applied mid-October and haven't heard anything.
 
Just to update the individuals still waiting patiently, ASDOH gave out 59 offers Dec 3. So if the class size is the same as last year, there are still 17 seats left open plus the seats that will be added when individuals who were accepted choose to go elsewhere. Hope this helps....

I think there were 2 or 3 interview dates open for Jan when I checked a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if they're full now or if they've even begun to invite for those dates yet
 
anyone else receive a letter stating that "you are still being considered for the class of 2017"? I'm guessing this a waitlist letter? or no?

yeah i got that post-interview letter today too. not really sure what to make of it
 
well at this pt. w/ no acceptance from this school, yea i agree not sure what i can make of this letter except for sure we're not rejected lol.

I still haven't received that letter, and my interview was over a month ago, but I'm not rejected either, because I asked, hah.

At this point, all of the candidates will be put into those "top, middle, or bottom" batches...so let's wait and see what happens!

I got a reply from ASDOH. I interviewed in mid-November.
They said that I did very well on the interview, which put me just below the highest ranking, therefore, I was competitive but not enough for first round of acceptances; meaning that I am still being considered. They said that they will have a better assessment when they get together in January for the next round of acceptances.
Should I be hoping for good news?

Just got invited for interview!! I requested January 15th at 11:45am 😀😀😀
