Yeah I had a similar question. I wanted to switch a school.

By the By, I was surprised today to find the Boston U. Secondary invite because I thought schools didn't know you were applying til you got reviewed. So how does it work? You submit and all the schools you paid for are automatically notified, but with no actual creds supplied? Hmm. So what if I send in my BU secondary before my AMCAS gets reviewed?? This process is so weird...and for no good reason.

Hey I was wondering if anyone had a handy dandy website or list of NON-Rolling schools with deadlines AFTER 10/15. I figure I have a better chance there than at rolling schools.

And not to fear, I will spend time on the secondaries. If I get one secondary a week, I'll be golden.

http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/deadlines.htm
That's just a list of all the deadlines...not entirely too sure which are rolling.

Is anyone appling to Southern IL or University of IL? My amcas is submitted but still being reviewed and would love to get a hold of secondaries. I figure if I can complete them this next weekend it might catch me up a little bit (I know I am way behind, but I was waiting for the August results).

Crappy MCAT 28P (9,10,9,P) and a 3.68 overall and science of about 3.4. I do have good letters of rec and ec's, not to mention my major (aviation) not sure if that will help/hurt.

I have already received and submitted all of my secondaries. Schools were just waiting for my MCAT scores, so hopefully there will be some movement now.

I decided to add Dartmoth this morning on a whim. Hope I don't regret it.

Overall GPA: 3.75
BCPM: 3.93
MCAT: 32 (PS11/VR11/BS10).

Any comments or suggestions? (check out my mdapps)

Great science GPA👍
So, when u added Dartmouth did u have to resubmit your AMCAS and how long do u think it will be for re-verification?

So it seems quite a few of us have yet to be verified :meanie:
What's the latest we can be verified? I submitted AMCAS in the beginning of September. Has it been too long? Should I call? I have only returned one secondary since I'm not verified yet, though I have 6 more almost done (to be sent as soon as I hear the V word!)

I'm also a late applicant and it's a little scary. On the one hand, I hear that a good candidate will still get in. On the other hand, statistically, you get less interviews and less acceptances if you're late. But I wouldn't have been able to take the April MCAT without hurting my grades, my MCAT score, or both, so I'm glad I waited. Good luck to everyone.

I submitted my AMCAS in June so I have been verified for a while. All you do is select add school and pay $30 per additional school, and AMCAS sends your app to that school. I added a few schools last month, and I immediately was getting secondaries from them, so I don't think that AMCAS "reverifies" an application that it has already verified once; it just sends your completed app to that additional school(s) (for a fee, of course).

HTH

Don't know if anyone's in the same boat as me, but I haven't received my MCAT scores yet.

Just to give a heads up to anyone else who's in my situation, here's what happend:
I called the AAMC this morning. What had happened was that they accidentally assigned me two AAMC ID numbers, but my AAMC login was associated with only one of them, and it just happened that the scores were only being released to the ID number I was unaware of. To correct this, they said they'll merge the two profiles, which will take up to another 48 hours. So if anyone hasn't received their AAMC scores, make sure you call. Also I've contact the OMSAS, they're pretty cool about it, since it wasn't my fault, and all I had to do was to write an email to them to confirm the matter and act as proof.

That being said, I'm still quite angry I missed out on all the Oct 15th ones... esp considering they were all the standard admission schools (i.e. cornell, columbia, yale, NYU), and it looks like I'll miss the Oct 16th deadline for Stanford too.

And the fact that I'm an international applicant and am mostly applying to schools with MD/MBA programs probably doesn't help either...

Thanks so much for your response. I was worried that they would take additional time to re-verify.

When the August MCATers start getting interviews, would you post which school and what interview date? Thanks! 🙂

I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that the Oct. 15th deadline you mention referred to the latest possible date to submit your AMCAS application, and as long you are waiting for it to be reviewed, it will still be accepted by those schools provided that all your transcripts have been received as well.

When the August MCATers start getting interviews, would you post which school and what interview date? Thanks! 🙂

I second this - inquiring minds wanna know!

AMCAS has been submitted, awaiting verification. We'll see what happens 😎

I have a few secondaries to send out in a few days. Been verified for close to a month now.

Just got a secondary from UCI so I guess they have processed my MCAT. Not an interview, but a step closer 🙂

I don't know if any of you applied to Texas schools, but when I checked my TMDSAS status, it says that they have received my August MCAT score...I guess it'll take another couple of days before the individual schools receive and process them.

just wondering:

-i got a 37M on my august mcat (13 ps, 11 vr, 13 bs)
-I have a pretty good gpa (~3.85 science, 3.9 overall)
-and i got reasonably good ECs

should i be worried about the m on my writing score? I've only taken a few english classes and but have gotten As in all of them.....(i dunno wtf happend on the mcat though)

August MCATer here.. 24P (9,6,9) in April and 23O (8,7,8) in August:scared:
GPA is over 3.8 and I got an interview invite from CCLCM on Oct 9th

I just got my results back... 34O... quite dissapointed about the WS... Do you guys think this will hold me back? It's not an M, but then again I don't have a kick-ass-37 either...

Are you applying to Canadian schools? If not, don't worry about it. I have a similar WS score and honestly couldn't care less at this point. I'm more concerned about how long it will take to get an interview invite.

How about we start a post-MCAT secondary/invite chain. So if you received a secondary/invite from a school after you received your MCAT score, post it up. Remember, MCAT SCORE RELEASE DATE WAS 10/13

UC Irvine - instigata (10/16)

Still waiting from the screeners (Maryland, Miami, etc)

Should I also throw UCSD in there since they screen also? The only thing is I got that secondary before the MCAT release date. Should we keep this strictly POST-MCAT?

I edited out the University of South Florida secondary I have since I got it back in September. I guess only post-mcat like ocpremed had down. Miami told me Monday morning that they are reviewing to give me a secondary. I'm hoping. :luck:

according to AECOM, which I called today, the mean old hag told me at least 4 weeks. Man she was a total b*tch.

I think it depends on how backed up each school is, or if the school does automatic secondaries (based on numbers), they give it right away.

yup, cali resident. and reapplicant. last year UH interviewed 158/191 resident apps and 114/1112 non-resident apps. 51/158 resident interviewees matriculated, 9/114 non-resident interviewees matriculated (MSAR). yay!!!

Did you guys send letters of rec in prior to the first screening, or did you wait for the secondary (this applies to AUGUST MCAT takers)?

I turned them in before the UCI screening, but after the UCSD screening (I'm assuming you're asking about the UC's from your other post?)

Hey. Yes, correct. I have not turned in letters, received UCSD, but not UCI or UCDavis.

Let me know if you all get interviews for the UCs. Hopefully I'm not pre-screened out! Sheesh.
