****The Official ECU Class of 2018 Thread****

Has anyone gotten in off the waitlist (or after being put under "continued review" in case that is something different)?

Maybe there is about to be some movement. Happy for you guys! 😀
 
The email mentioned they haven't filled their class yet and they haven't started creating a wait list either. I think we will see some decisions being made in the near future from the tone of the email.

Awesome! That is definitely good news and a big sign of movement in the near future.
 
I hope this doesn't mean that there is a rejection letter in the mail for me! :nailbiting:
 
I cant understand why I havent received the e-mail as well. It makes me think bad news is at home waiting for me in the mailbox :/

I wouldn't write it off until you hear back. I'm sure they are reviewing the app's in batches.

I got that continued interest email and I emailed Dr. Wilson to let them know about a deposit that I have due... But that I was definitely still interested in ECU. They basically responded with "we won't have a decision by your deposit due date" and "we understand if you want to go with that offer" and asked me if I was STILL interested in ECU... I thought about it. And said no thanks.. I think it's a great school and it is doing fantastic things for our state, I just feel very misled by their application process. So I'm moving on...hopefully it will help free up a spot for you...good luck everyone.

I'm in the same position and have a deposit due March 1. Has anyone else received the same response? I have not emailed them...
 
I received an offer from Mr. Lowery by phone about 10:00 this morning. Still in complete shock, but I couldn't feel more grateful or blessed for the opportunity. I'm a non-traditional re-applicant and have been dreaming of this day for many, many years.

I wish nothing but the best of luck to all of you! Time to celebrate!

Congrats! Definitely time to celebrate. I feel there will be more acceptances to come in the next week.

Congrats! Did you interview pre/post Dec? Also, did you receieve a continuing review email?
 
So a few more spots were given out last week, but hopefully there are some more for the rest of us! I'm assuming next years class isn't 100% full, right? Hopefully there will be more news this week, I have been so anxious to hear something. I absolutely fell in love with ECU when I was able to finally see it at my interview. Good luck to everyone, and go pirates!

I dont think it's all the way full, but it's getting close! When did you interview? I haven't heard anything yet and I interviewed Dec. 10th

I haven't heard anything either, it looks like the class is realllllly being close to full, however I wonder how many of those people have deposits at multiple schools... Also, with the Facebook group you have to remember that some of the people in the group are already in dental school.

I didn't receive the continuing review email last week, but I've yet to receive a rejection in the mail so I'm still holding onto faith.

I really want to be accepted into this class...
 
Welp, it's official, I'm out of the running for this cycle. Received my letter via snail mail a few mins ago. AADSAS still says invited for interview.

Onwards to the next cycle!

For those that received rejections in the mail, did you AADSAS change soon after? Or does it still stay "Invited for Interview"?
 
So does mine and I haven't heard any good news yet, so I'm losing hope..... 🙁
 
I did not get a letter in the mail but my status changed online on 3/11 to application denied.

Hey all I hope everyones dental school apps are going well. I hope to apply to ECU and was curious about the class profiles for the past few years as posted on their site. I noticed they seem to accept a lot of students who attended unc chapel hill. Was wondering what may be the reason for this skew in the class profiles.

Well, quite frankly, UNC seems to be the in-state "hub" for pre-med and pre-dental students. They also have a ginormous student body. I don't think there's any big reason other than those... nothing too astounding. 🙂
 
I haven't heard anything either, but I imagine they are probably finalizing everything as we speak. Hopefully we'll all hear great news soon if we just remain patient. 🙂

Congrats to those that have been accepted to ECU SoDM. If you are looking to purchase a home in Greenville, my house is for sell. Only takes 10mins to get to the dental school. There are a number of hospital residents and medical students in the neighborhood, not sure if there are any dental students. Fenced in backyard.

waiting pool for me, too. Did anyone get accepted from the waitlist at ECU from previous cycles? It just seems to me that the chances to get accepted from waitlist will be VERY slim, considering April 15th has already passed, so people had already solidified their decision to attend ECU.
