****The Official Georgia HSU Class of 2016 Acceptance Thread****

So, it's Christmas Eve and no letter of any kind. Save the worst for last and then not tell us by the time you said you would. I was told in person, won't say by who, on a day other than my interview that I would DEFINITELY know by Christmas. "We wouldn't do that to you over the holidays..." How nice.

Anyone know if they are back from Christmas break?

I would say they are back from christmas break, my rejection letter was in the mail today. Good luck to those of you that got accepted at GHSU, I will be looking elsewhere. Not really a surprise but would have liked to at least gotten on the alternate list. Starting to wonder if I will be doing this again next year which isnt a pleasant thought as I am ready now.

students start back monday. SOME admission folks are here, but i know Hanes, both of them, are not in the office. hang in there. im not sure whats changed since i was accepted, but they had 1st rd acceptances THROUGH january for the class below me. good luck! look forward to seeing you guys when you get here!

Just FYI to all those on the alternate list. The folks accepted in Dec are given one month (or something close to that) to send in there acceptance. I believe most folks who do not accept the invite to GHSU are typically waiting to hear from other schools. So theyvwait till the last minute to reply to GHSU. So bottom line, don't drive yourself crazy waiting by the mailbox. You probably won't hear anything till the end of Jan or early Feb.. Also, if you are on the alternate list be sure to schedule a meeting with the admissions office to see how you can improve your chances for next year. It's another chance to get noticed! Take advantage of it.

I received my alternate list letter on Dec. 18, sent in my reply to be on the list within two days of receipt, and then got a call on Dec. 28 from Dr. Hanes offering me a spot for the incoming class. I was incredibly surprised, but relieved, to get the call that early. I thought it would of been a few months later to hear something back. Good luck to all still waiting!!!

For those already accepted with plans on attending, welcome to Augusta! We have a great home that is available for sale or rent; you could move in as early as May 1. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home; great for 2-3 roommates or a young family. Very close to the school in a very quiet neighborhood.

Currently two 4th year medical student live in the home, one is the owner of the house; it is available to be shown now.

If you have any interest and want more information, you can PM me and I will send the information to you.

So who all are re-applying for this cycle and what have you done this past year to improve your chances?

So who all are re-applying for this cycle and what have you done this past year to improve your chances?
I have re-taken the DAT with a 20TS and 19AA. Also, I wrote a new and improved personal statement which goes into more detail of my competence for dental school's academic load. The instructors I have chosen to write my recommendation letters know me way better than the ones I chose last cycle.

Yea I retook the DAT as well and took a bunch of courses to raise my GPA. I hope GHSU works out, if not, I will have to go out of state and that means uprooting the whole family so I would prefer to avoid all that.

Just got my secondary app email today. stats are 18AA 18PAT 3.62 GPA hope it works out! Trying to stay in state too to save as much money as possible

Hear that, also trying to stay close to family as well

Also being able to be in that amazing building they just built for 4 years! Hopefully it all goes well for us.

For those of ya'll who interviewed last year, what is the interview process like at GHSU?
